"I need you to hack into every camera, dashcam, cctv, around my house

"I need you to hack into every camera, dashcam, cctv, around my house." Those are the first words that drop from my lips the moment I dial Agent Rodriguez.

"What's going on, Agent Hill?"

"Just do it." I snap.

"Okay, okay, give me two minutes." Agent Rodriguez replies immediately.

I pace around the room, the box and the necklace in my hand. I abandoned the rose somewhere in the kitchen and I've been in a state of a mini cardiac arrest. It can't be from Andreas, can it? Does it mean he now knows where I live?

It hits me, from the security footage from our first encounter, he took my ID. The fact that I almost forgot about that makes my skin crawl and my senses all heightened. What did he do with my ID. You can do a lot with the ID of a high ranking CIA agent in this country. You can get access to a lot of classified information. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

"I'm sending you a footage right now, Agent Hill, although I did see something quite strange."

"Let me see it." I sit in front of my laptop and the footage comes in.

I watch the areas from my apartment complex entrance to my door area. Nothing. Yet. An then I see it. A teenager. He walks up the steps leading to my apartment and he stops at the door. Slowly, he gets the rose out, all the white being especially careful not to hurt himself and then he gets the box out. What's strange is, he looks in the direction of the security cameras and gives a thumbs up.

This may just be scripted. The poor child may have no idea what is going on here, the bigger picture, the criminal.

"Everything okay, Agent Hill? Was that a surprise package? What did you get-" Agent Rodriguez gets giddy.

"I need you to do me a favour."

"Agent Hill what's wrong?" now his voice is low.

"I need you to not tell anyone about this until we get Andreas and Code Hidalgo is closed."

He's silent for a moment.

"Of course." He sighs. "Should I be worried?" He asks, worry clear in his voice.

I stare at the thorned rose far from me and the necklace in my hand. Elsewhere, my blood-stained photocopied ID lies on a couch. My eyes drift towards the calender where it's marked that we catch Andreas in two weeks.

"Of course not." I tell him. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight, Agent Hill." He says and I hang up.

I take in a deep breath. I almost forgot to breathe. I search my laptop and I find it. Alexander Hidalgo's house cell. It's funny what I'm about to do. But I'm dialing the number anyway.

It rings.

And the line picks up after four rings.

Except it's not Alexander Hidalgo but the voice of a female.
