"𝐒𝐎 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐃𝐈𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐀𝐂𝐇 say exactly?" Danny Averman asked her twin. They walked to the rink Coach Bombay rented for them to practice hockey with their friends.
"Coach said that he has planned a very special class." Lester answered. "He said that it would help us win somehow."
"As if that would happen!" Peter snorted which made the group of children laugh.
"Who knows? Maybe we could win?" Charlie suggested.
"In your dreams Spazway!"
"𝟏 , 𝟐 , 𝟑 , 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐦!" Coach Bombay exclaimed as Karp demonstrated a 'technique' Coach suggested. Karp fell face down on the ice and the group of children burst out into laughter.
"What are you laughing at cream-cheese boy? Let's go!" Bombay asked Goldberg which made his laughter stop immediately. Danny , as always , partnered up with Connie. The two girls began to practice but got distracted by the rest of the group's lack of doing the exercise.
Connie glanced over to Danny , and Danny did the same. They couldn't believe what they were looking at. The two girls both burst out laughing in unison. Peter took notice of the two and snapped , "What are you two clowns laughing at?"
"We're laughing at you , shortie." Connie laughed.
"No it's not 'shortie' , it's thumbelina!" Danny chimed in which made the two girls burst into an uncontrollable laughter.
"Hey! What's going on here? Why are you not practicing?" Coach Bombay asked which stopped the girls laughter.
"Sorry it was because Peter was getting angry due to the fact that we think very 'little' of him!" Danny answered which made the two girls burst into to laughter yet again.
"Girls! Calm down!" Bombay ordered. "And you calm down too Peter , they're just screwing around. They don't mean anything by it."
"Yes coach." The three children said in unison.
"𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐈𝐒 𝐅𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐍 injury going to help us win?" Danny whispered to Connie. Connie shrugged her shoulders. Danny knew that it was wrong , the others knew it was wrong. But they wanted the win. It would be even worse if they had to forfeit.
Bombay had the children stood in the lines across from each other. He walked in between the lines and asked the children to repeat some words , hoping it could make them win somehow.
"Good , good. Now say it again!"
"Take the fall , act hurt , get indignant!"
"One more time!" He ordered.
"Take the fall , act hurt , get indignant!"
"Good! You guys are ready!" Bombay went on.
Danny decided to skate over to her brother when Bombay had finished acting like a sergeant. "This is wrong. We're not going to win either way."
"I know. I also know that we'll be in deep shit if we get caught and we'd have to forfeit which isn't good either." Lester agreed. "But I just say we do it anyways , maybe it could work."
"Maybe...when pigs fly!"
𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐘 , 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑 groaned as Goldberg missed saving the goal. "I knew I should have pet-sat Mrs Watkins' cat today."
"Give me a break ref , open your eyes! Did you see what he did to me?" Goldberg snarled at the referee. He made his was back to the bench and got approached by Bombay.
"Goldberg , you don't take the fall while they're shooting around you!"
"Oh , well I guess you didn't explain that very well , did ya?" Goldberg replied. He muttered to himself as he sat down on the bench.
"District 5! Cut the acting class. One more dive , I forfeit to the Jets!" The referee said as he skated over.
"What? I'm insulted by that!" Bombay snapped.
Danny watched as Bombay tried to convince Charlie to cheat. She knew Charlie would chicken out , he wouldn't do it.
"Look at Bombay trying to get Charlie to cheat!" Lester said with a chuckle. "He can't even cheat on a pop-quiz , nevermind in hockey!"
Charlie skated back out and continued to play. He was approached by two boys who were very much bigger than him. They tried to get the puck from him but he wasn't moving. He ended up passing it to Guy which made Bombay furious.
"𝐖𝐄 𝐂𝐀𝐍'𝐓 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍 𝐖𝐈𝐍 when we cheat!" Jesse shouted. "Stupid cake-eater tricks!"
"That was embarrassing." Connie said which Danny nodded to.
Bombay came storming into the locker room looking for Charlie. "Charlie! What the hell is the matter with you? When I tell you to do something , you do it! You got it?"
Charlie shook his head no , then Bombay ordered him to look at him , which Charlie followed. "You can't make me cheat!"
Charlie stormed out the locker room as Jesse and Terry's Dad came storming in. "Jesse , Terry let's go. This is what I gave up my overtime pay for?"
Danny gave an 'I told you so' look to her twin brother and he agreed.
"To see my kids taking falls?" The Hall Twins Dad stormed back out the room.
Bombay and Karp both left the room. The remaining children still sat in silence. Lester was the first to speak up. "You said it sis."
