CLEMENTINE LINDEN LOVED storms. As a young child, she used to stand on the outdoor table watching the clouds rolling over and darkening until the first raindrops fell or the wind shifted, her parents quickly ushering her inside.
OLIVER AND CHERRY Linden simply didn't understand their daughter's fascination with storms. For them, storms and the tornadoes that soon followed were frightening and a threat to their blossoming orchard, Linden Fruits. But that never seemed to cross Clementine's mind, her habit never letting up. Thankfully for them, however, storms weren't Clementine's only passion. That lay in the paleontology field, leading to some conflicting walls in her childhood bedroom.
STORM CHASER AND paleontologist, the two forever conflicting sides of her. For her parents, the decision was easy, they didn't want her storm-chasing and a bunch of bones couldn't kill her but even as she worked through her studies, Clementine couldn't let it go. Until one tornado season, on a routine trip home to Oklahoma, Clementine tripped into storm chasing with a bunch of largely amateur but adrenaline-seeking storm chasers, 'The Tornado Wranglers'.
SEASON AFTER SEASON, Clementine would make the trip back, leaving behind whatever dig she was working on, storm chasing to her heart's content. But that wasn't the only thing, coming back meant that she would also be coming back to Tyler Owens, her past, her present and her future.
THINGS WERE PERFECT for them when they were together, they pushed each other, made the same risky decisions, and quipped back and forth all day, always full of love and support. But it was when they were apart that the cracks began to show.
TYLER COULDN'T STAND the time-consuming high-risk, low-reward nature of Clementine's work, he wanted to always be in the action and hence Montana was suffocating away from their life in Oklahoma. But Clementine couldn't always be in Oklahoma either, so each goodbye became more resentful and hurtful as tensions brewed and after three years of back and forth, it simply became too much.
A WEEK BEFORE Clementine was set to return to Oklahoma for another full tornado season, she was halted by a text message simply telling her not to bother anymore before radio silence. And that was it for them, the breaking point had been reached.
HOWEVER, IT'S NOT until a year later, following a new fossil discovery by some town boys that Clementine is dragged back into Oklahoma once more, amid a major outbreak of tornados nonetheless.

so I haven't been on wattpad in two years, but a little movie called twisters dragged me back out and here we are. let's just hope I haven't forgotten how to do this.
