After placing the pacifier gently in my little ones mouth, I watch as her eyelids flutter closed, her tiny body snuggling deeper into the blankets. I press a soft kiss to her forehead, whispering, "Goodnight, my precious girl." Turning off the light, I switch on the night light, casting a gentle glow across the room to keep the shadows at bay. I linger for a moment, ensuring she's completely settled before quietly leaving the room.

In my office, I sit down at my desk and begin to sift through the day's paperwork. There are reports from the council, updates on the kingdom's finances, and letters from neighboring realms. But my thoughts keep drifting back to her giggles, and her sleepy murmurs. Each document I sign seems to pale in comparison to the joy she brings.

After an hour of work, I find myself missing her too much to continue. Setting the papers aside, I rise from my desk and decide to take a midnight stroll to clear my mind. The night air is cool and refreshing as I step outside, the fireflies dancing in the gardens, casting an ethereal glow. The guards nod respectfully as I pass by, their presence a reassuring reminder of the safety surrounding the castle.

I walk through the gardens, my path illuminated by the soft, twinkling lights of the fireflies. My steps lead me to a patch of flowers that my baby had once planted. Their delicate petals catch the moonlight, and I smile, remembering how proud she was when they first bloomed.

Pulling out my magic phone, I send a message to my sister, unable to keep my excitement to myself.

"Just put Lily to bed. She's so adorable, I can't stop thinking about her. It's such a blessing to finally have a little one to care for."

My sister replies almost immediately. "I'm so happy for you, Elera! We need to set a date so I can meet her. How about this weekend?"

I quickly type back, "That sounds perfect. She'll love meeting her auntie. Let's plan for Saturday?"

With our plans set, I feel a sense of contentment wash over me. I linger in the garden for a while longer, watching the fireflies and savoring the peaceful night. My thoughts are filled with her smiles, her laughter, and the way she clings to me with such trust.

Eventually, I make my way back inside and head up to bed. As I settle under the covers, I think about the day ahead – perhaps a visit to the royal library with my girl, or a trip to the village market. There are so many possibilities, each one more delightful than the last.

With thoughts of my little one and the joy she brings, I drift off to sleep, feeling truly blessed and excited for what tomorrow will bring.
