The beginning part is a little rushed, but trust the process.
Also, I made this chapter a tad longer, so I hope it's enough till the next update.

It had been a year since you joined the Demon Slayer Corps, and it's been a hellish ride for you.
Meeting Kagaya was a trip, for sure. Surprisingly, he knew English, and revealed your husband's will as well as everything else Hajime had told him about you and your son. All good things, but the fact that he was so loving even in his final letters broke your heart.
Then, only a few days after moving into Hajime's old estate, made by his family when he was supposed to become a Hashira, Asahi went into a deep sleep. You figured it was similar to what Nezuko went through, but he'd occasionally wake up with a drastic cotton mouth. Only your healing water could quench his thirst, and you'd probably have a few hours with him before he fell back asleep for weeks at a time.
As you took on more missions, you often missed the times when he'd awaken, so you'd always leave a note and a chilled gourd for him in case that did happen. You didn't want the poor boy to believe he was abandoned or forgotten, in fact he was almost always on your mind as you ventured through Japan for demons.
Of course, you had to go through Final Selection like everyone else, but you didn't need a blade. Your abilities as a witch were strong, so you conversed with your Swordmaker to make you rings. That way, no matter what kind of magic you used, it was filtered through the sun soaked rings on your fingers, having the same effect as a Nichirin blade.
Maybe it was the rage you never stopped to heal from, but you had gained an advantage in strength and ability. After many months of training and becoming a Demon Slayer, you have been at the Kinoe level for a while. You wouldn't be surprised if you were to randomly receive the news of becoming a Hashira
As impressive and near unrealistic it was, you're pretty sure you didn't beat Muichiro and Gyomei's record. But still, third place was better than still being Mizunoto.
You sighed as you leaned against the wall of a shop, standing behind it to avoid the odd looks you'd receive. Not that you were ashamed of how you looked, your appearance was something you took immense pride in.
Whenever someone tried to use skin color against you, it was more humorous than anything. As much as you'd love to beat the shit out of people like that, you were a Houston girlie before being isekai'ed, and they weren't ready for that typa fighting.
You pulled out your phone, typing away in the notes app. Yes, your phone still had some functions despite being in the Taisho Era. You never questioned it, just glad you had access to something from home still.
'Taisho Era, Year 19XX,
Today marks a year of being a demon slayer, a year since Asahi has become a demon, and a year since Hajime has passed.
As I've recently noted, I may be labeled Hashira soon, so I'm at a level I'm comfortable in as the plot moves along. Though I didn't see Tanjiro at Final Selection, I will assume that the timeline is moving steadily. I'm gonna see what's up before I make a real move.
And if you're reading this, Asahi, I love you so much and so does your daddy. Even when it feels like I'm no longer visiting you, remember that I'm on the front lines fighting for you. Should anything happen to me, even though it takes a lot to kill a boss, remember that I'll always be with you.
