Chapter One: The Concert I've Been Waiting For
As I stood in the massive crowd at the NCT concert, the blaring music vibrating through my entire being, I couldn't help but feel a mixture of excitement and nervousness. It wasn't the music that had brought me here. I mean, don't get me wrong, NCT's tunes are catchy, but the real reason was a bit more personal. My heart belonged to one person whose name is Mark Lee. I'd been crushing on him for years, thinking about him every night before drifting off to sleep. He was my ultimate bias, my everything.
The lights dimmed, and the crowd went wild as the intro to "Sticker" started playing. The stage exploded with energy, and there he was—Mark Lee, shining like the star he is. My heart raced as I watched him dance and sing with effortless charm. It was like he had a gravitational pull, drawing me in with every move.
As the concert went on, I found myself edging closer to the front, inch by inch, until I practically leaned against the barrier separating the fans from the stage. My eyes never left Mark. He was perfect, and every time he flashed that adorable smile, I felt like I might melt into a puddle right there.
Then, during a brief pause between songs, Mark did something unexpected. He scanned the crowd, his eyes searching, and for a split second, they landed on me. My heart nearly stopped. Could he see me? Did he notice me? I knew I had to do something—anything—to stand out.
"Mark!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, waving my arms like a maniac. "I love you, Mark!"
He looked my way again, his eyes twinkling with amusement. My stomach flipped. There was no way Mark Lee had just looked at me. I must be dreaming.
The concert eventually ended, and the members said their goodbyes and left the stage. I immediately felt a wave of sadness. I can't believe the love of my life has just come and gone like that. I had to wait until the fans left for me to leave, so I started daydreaming, looking at the stage, imagining Mark still there. All of a sudden, I feel a hand on my shoulder. I jump in shock and turn around to see a security guard gesturing for me to follow. Confused, I followed the guard, who started leading me to a door where no one was going. I stopped in my tracks. This felt wrong.
"Hey, where are we going?" I ask
"Backstage," the unimpressed security guard says
"Uhhh, why? I don't think I'm allowed back there," I reply in a sassy tone. Jeez, don't people know how to do their job?
"Someone asked to see you" the guard turns around "You have to come with me"
Oh no. What have I done? Was my dancing too inappropriate? Was it the fact I started reading to look like I didn't care about the concert to get someone's attention? I think I know what it was. Earlier, I was on the phone with my friend Jess, and I was calling her a bitch for going to get hot pot without me. I completely forgot I am at an NCT concert and not cupcakKe, swearing is wrong here. I guess, I hope they don't make me go to jail, or worse... ban me from another NCT concert. How else will I see my man??
