Tuesday 7h30 AM
I was heading to school with Rory, we were in my car excitedly chatting.
"Did you see it?" Rory asks me excitedly.
"See what?" I ask pretending not to know what she's talking about, she rolls her eyes.
"Tristan's stories silly." She says hitting me lightly.
"Oh yeah, what about it?"
"Ugh, why do you act so nonchalant? He's totally head over heels and desperate for you." Rory says excitedly.
"Don't exaggerate, also, before the kiss we were already friends."
"But the song though... bold choice" Rory adds.
"Good point." I answer "Oh and the formal, will you be attending?"
"I don't think so..." Rory replies.
"Why not? You could ask Dean to be your escort."
"Why do you care about formals anyway?" She asked.
"I came to Chilton to live the high school experience, is there anything more high school than going to a formal?" I state.
"You're right."
"Please come." I plead.
"But if I ask Dean to come with me, I won't make you company" She states the obvious.
"I know, but just knowing that there will be a friendly face there makes it better."
"Okay..." She agrees reluctantly
"Yay, you're the best Rory" I celebrate as I park.
We got to school and headed our separate ways, Rory went ahead to get some books from the library and I went to my locker. I already talked to my parents all about the formal, and they agreed that I could attend, once more missing free practices and quali. I saw Tristan on the other side of the hall and decided that the time was now, so I headed to him.
"Hey, Francis." I say smiling
"Oh, hey Lizzy." He said seeming surprised.
"I wanted to know if I could borrow your yesterday's notes." I asked sympathetically.
"Yes, sure, can I hand it to you after classes are over?" He offered.
"Absolutely, thank you Francis."
"You know me, a Pope got to do good to others" I chuckle "Why didn't you come yesterday?"
"I was too tired to come to school." I say honestly.
"I get it. And... another question." He says.
"Hit it."
"Will you be here on Saturday?" He asks.
"Definitely, can't miss my first formal." I say implying that he was talking about the formal.
"Yeah, right, good to know." He says, I frown in response but let it slide.
"I'll get going to class, talk to you later!" I say waving him goodbye, he waves it back.
"Oh and Tristan" I say looking back at him, the halls emptying as students went to class. "You could've said it to my face you know? No need to post."
Tuesday 4h00 PM
I was at my locker putting my books in there when someone approached me from behind and whispered in my ear.
"I could've said it to your face, but you can't say you didn't like that story." I could sense his smirk.
"I'm old fashioned, I prefer a good talk." I say turning to face him, he steps back.
"Sorry grandma, next time I'll write a letter." He replied smiling.
"I like stamps so put as many as you can." I say adding to the joke.
"Here, my notes." He said handing me a giant binder.
"Thank you Francis."
"Anytime Lizzy."
Thursday 8h30 PM
I got home, took a shower, put on a satin set of PJs, and immediately went to study. Since I got to Chilton every time that I'm free is time to study. I went through Tristan's notes and sloppy handwriting, clearly showing that he wasn't really wanting to be there. I was past eight when I could confidently say that I had everything covered. Suddenly when I had just laid in bed, the bell rang.
"Cocca di mamma, it's for you" my mom chanted from downstairs, she must not notice but anytime she called me "Mommy's girl" something was up. I go downstairs and open the door to... Tristan. I was wearing PJ's so I wasn't feeling the most confident at the moment.
"What are you doing here?" I ask confusedly checking him out, he was wearing a button-up shirt and tailored pants.
"Can we talk outside?" He asks. I close the door behind me. We are standing on the porch he's with a hand behind his back. "I have something for you." He says taking the hand from his back, he was holding a small bouquet of white roses, I freeze.
"For me?" I ask confused, I didn't expect such a move from him.
"I wanted to melt your heart before asking something" He replies smirking, I grab the bouquet and roll my eyes.
"Way to kill the mood" I say as I sniff the roses.
"Okay" He breathes deeply "Y/n Ferrari, would you like to go with me to the formal?" I take some time to digest the question before I reply.
"Yes" I say smiling at him, he sighs relieved and smiles back. "Never in a million years, I thought it would be that difficult for you to ask a girl out. "
"I mean, you're the first one I actually care about" He slips out.
"Softy" He rolls his eyes at my response.
"Okay, then I'll buy our tickets tomorrow." He says smiling.
"Do that" I say getting closer to him.
"I guess I'm going to go now" He says looking down at me. I give him a peck on the cheek, he widens his eyes and blushes.
"Thank you for the flowers Tristan." He smiles and scratches the back of his neck.
"See you tomorrow then." He says backing away.
"See you" I reply and I go back inside.
