One thing Allen realized right away, was that his schedule was very...wonky. Some of his classes were second year classes and he even had a third year class. Out of all this, he only had one first year class. And he was a first year! He'd never had formal education before, the Zoldycks were all homeschooled on Kukuroo Mountain, was this perhaps the norm?
He's been to so many home rooms, and has been asked by many teachers if he was in the right class or not.
But luckily he had finished orientation day. The only bad side to this was that he was currently in the headmaster's office.
Allen saw some familiar faces, he saw Professor Crewel, Proffessor Trein, and Mr. Vargas. And then there was the headmaster. Crowley always seemed like an odd fellow to him. By that he meant the guy looked like a distant cousin of the messenger crow that Illumi uses.
"Ah, you must be wondering why I called you here," the headmaster's voice broke his train of thought. "We've come to discuss your.....mixed up schedule."
So that was why he'd been called down. He was afraid he'd done something wrong, but this eased his worries.
"You do remember that test you had to take before coming to orientation right Pup?" Crewel questioned. Allen nodded his head, it was the test he was required to take or the people at his dorm wouldn't allow him to step foot outside of it.
"That test is to see how much of the school curriculum you already know. It would be a waste of time if we taught puppies tricks they already knew instead of tricks they didn't. So this test was a way to decide what classes you'd be taking." Crewel explained to him.
His explanation made sense. That must be the reason why he had so many second and third year classes when he was only a first year. He probably got a good score on the test.
You're very smart Ally, so smart
He thanked Nanika in his head, he didn't need to raise any suspicions as to why he was speaking to himself. That would just draw unnecessary attention, which he did not need at the moment.
Crewel then broke out into a smile, "You're quite the talented pup, and unlike most first years, you scored quite high." The man went behind the headmaster's desk and pulled out a piece of paper.
"This is what classes in your first year you would've taken but have skipped, and what classes you will be taking. They're all organized by which year level they are." Crewel handed the paper to him.
Crowley was about to speak up when Trein cut him off. "There aren't any other first years who've skipped classes like you, but there are some second years in your third year classes." Crowley seemed to be upset at being interrupted, but continued for Trein nonetheless.
"Yes yes," the headmaster said, "To think such intelligent students would be in my school! I truly am such a model educator for having this program. Oh how gracious I am!"
Another thing Allen found weird about the headmaster. He, for some reason, had some sort of narcissistic ego-boosting complex.
This man is weird. He reminds me of a bird, and kind of like Milluki. I don't like him
Allen found himself nodding in agreement. He normally wasn't one to judge, but the headmaster really hadn't given him a great first impression.
He looked over to his teachers and found Professor Crewel rolling his eyes at the headmaster's theatrics and Professor Trein shaking his head in disappointment. It seemed this was a regular occurrence to them. Again, not a great impression of Crowley.
"Ahem," Crowley cleared his throat, "all in all, you have one first year class and a mix of second and third year classes. You're schedule is with you and though you are younger than most in your classes, you still won't be excused for any misbehaviour."
Allen nodded again.
Trein raised an eyebrow. He knew how Ignihyde students could be, but you were very quiet, and only nodded. But Trein didn't question any further, Allen seemed well behaved and was clearly gifted, and that's really all Trein needed to know.
"That will be all now Mr. Zilck." Crowley said, sending him off.
Allen walked away with Nanika by his side, heading to his dorm. That was quite the long discussion. And it was a little nerve-wracking, perhaps that's why students didn't like being in the principal's office at schools.
But it was fine, classes would begin tomorrow and it would be the start of the school year. Yet somehow, Allen could tell something was going to go wrong this year.
He could just feel it.
Don't worry Ally, if anyone hurts you, I'll kill them!
