Days as a student at Night Raven seem to fly by, as days turn into a week. And Allen was starting to forget he had to go home. But that wasn't a problem, we don't want him to go home anyways! It wouldn't be good for the story—I mean his happiness.

As days went by, Allen had gotten closer to Riddle and the red head was starting to finally treat the boy as a companion, rather than an unfortunate classmate.

But as days went by, the project deadline for the Rune project Allen and Riddle were working on, also came closer.

"So you completed the slideshow?" Riddle questioned, in truth, he himself created a slideshow just in case Allen had failed to deliver. It has happened before with some of his previous lab partners Floyd

Allen nodded in response, making Riddle let out a small sigh of relief. Riddle thanked the seven he finally had a responsible lab partner.

I expect the slideshow is up to proper standards, Riddle thought as he and his parter prepared to present in front of the class. The students who were presenting before them had just finished and it was now their turn to speak to the class. Riddle looked at his materials, he acquired a test subject to perform their demonstration on, and a sheet of paper with the pronunciation of the spell.

Though he wouldn't need to use the sheet of paper as he'd already memorized the pronunciation, he looked over to his partner who didn't exhibit any signs of emotions, Allen most likely would.

Even if he is slightly more competent than other student, Riddle thought as he and Allen walked up to the front of the class, he is an Ignihyde student after all, and his hair is so shabby that his bangs cover his eyes.

If his mother were here then she would've reprimanded the boy. Perhaps Riddle himself should do so later.

"Ahem," Riddle cleared his throat, and signaled to Allen to put the slideshow up on the board. He referred to the slideshow as he spoke, "As you may know, ancient runes were ways that mages back in the day harnessed their power. As society changed, mages have developed magic stones, the ones we use in our magic pens, to harness our magic."

"Ancient runes however, can still be used by mages today," Riddle continued as he picked up the test subject he would be performing his experiment on, which was a small red egg. The egg reminded Allen of Riddle himself, though he would never say it out loud.

This dude has been yapping for like, ever

This is just has a presentation goes Nanika

He wondered where she learned such manners of language from? (Literally every single word that comes out of Killua's mouth is where she learned)

"I will demonstrate this by using a rune I have created, to speed of the hatching process of a Vermillion Finch."

Riddle held the red egg out for the class to see and picked up his magic pen and pointed it at the egg.

"нσяℓσgιυм ιη мє∂ιυм тяαнєє, " Riddle chanted, the egg floating up out of his hands and gold weaves of thread forming like a barrier around it, " єт нσ¢ ƒℓσяєяє ."

Gasps from the students in the audience could be heard as the gold threads that surrounded the egg burst and little cracks ate away at the shell. The egg hatched, giving way to a small, yet magnificent Vermillion Finch with striking red feathers and rich gold eyes.

Wow. So he hatched a bird, so can every other momma bird out there. Not that big of a deal

Allen sweatdropped. He knew Nanika had a certain dislike for the students at this school, but did that dislike really need to be extended to Riddle? He was his first friend after all. And she was really dragging his demonstration to hell and back.
