| ★CHAPTER TWO: 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧|
---------------------------------------------------

'Today will be another day.. let's just hope things will be different this time'

Enzo was sitting on... the closest thing that they could call a bed, doing his best to collect himself after having struggled to have gotten any sleep the night before. Reaching out towards his side and grabbing his glasses, using his sleeve in order to clean them off before putting them back on.

Getting up Enzo Stretched and popped a few joints, looking over to where Maritza usually slept. She wasn't there at the moment, Only the chainsaw remained by its side, a sight that probably would've startled anyone who might not have known why it was there. It used to be her weapon of choice awhile back, however she ended up dropping it since it was too heavy to constantly carry around and ended up being pretty noisy as well; so she traded it out for an old wooden bat, nailed it in and wrapped it in barb, yet even then she chose to keep it near. Sat right next to where she slept, She claimed it was just so she'd have something near her if something happened at night.. yet apart of him felt that Maritza kept it with her because it made her feel a bit safer

Enzo sighed and began walking elsewhere, dodging a few support beams here and there as he made his way over, exiting their handmade home and feeling as the early morning sunlight poked its head out from through the clouds painted across the sky. Stepping outside to find Maritza crouched down on her knees and playing with Butters, a dog that she had found whilst exploring and became dead set on bringing with them, Not like Enzo would've been able to convince her otherwise

"Guess I'm not the only one who woke up early" Enzo joked, watching as Maritza only shrugged and responded; "Couldn't get any sleep either I'm guessing?" "...no, not much.."
The two stood side by Side, overlooking the land in front of them, stretching out for miles as the light of the peering sun began to come over the trees and slowly basking the world in a light, albeit one that was subtle for now.. Truth be told; the two had left the town of Raven Brooks a long time ago, and while parts of them felt a sense of confliction regarding the idea of abandoning the place they had grown up in, But they knew better then to stay in Raven Brooks. After all, why make it easier for something to find you when it's much safer to stay hidden in a place they weren't likely to look?

The two had managed to find a scrap yard a few miles outside of Raven Brooks, hidden by the trees. 'No Trespassing' said the old sign, but they knew almost no one would care anymore if they trespassed, or what they did with with the scrap metal; Used it to make a small space for them to live and hide away from the world, although it took a few tries before they finally got it right, hiding the entrance of their hideaway behind junk and guarded with bear traps hidden beneath the grass with butters occasionally lending a helping hand in guarding the place, or rather, helping paw... However, this didn't mean there wasn't times they went back to visit Raven Brooks every now and again

"Soooo, Are we planning on heading into town today?"
Enzo paused for a moment as his sister asked, thinking it over as he gave Butters a small pat on the head
"I dunno.. We're doing pretty good on resources for now, besides we shouldn't be going there too often"
"Oh come on, you know what they say. 'The more the merrier' right? Besides, might do us some good if we plan on visiting Old Town later"
Enzo was silent for a moment before he let out a small sigh, getting up and motioning for Maritza to do the same
"Well if we're going out today then we're gonna have to get ready first, come on"
Maritza rolled her eyes and chuckled, heading back in the base and motioning Butters to wait by the door before heading inside
