The sun was setting beautifully, the sky having the warm colors from the sun shine. Even if it looked foggy and cloudy during the day, the sun never failed to set once it would become night. She was wearing a soft blush-colored kimono, her hair down as she had on her sandals. Her obi had a blossom pattern on it as she had a small bow in her hair to complement her outfit. A fluffy comfortable scarf around her neck to keep her warm. Aiko had pink tinted cheeks from the cold, her nose slightly becoming pink as well.

The girl was humming a soft tune, not hearing the gentle pair of footsteps that crunched in the snow come her way. "Aiko, I'm back." The mentioned girl looked over shoulder and her smile only widen at the sight of her older brother, Yasu, walking towards her with a soft smile planted on face.

Yasu was Aiko's older brother. He had the same hair color as her, and his hair was up into a small ponytail, a soft blush-colored hair tie tying it all together. He also had a scarf, it covering up his neck and a little bit of his upper body. His eyes were a light brown color. He wore a demon slayer uniform, the same color of his hair tie adorning the color of his haori he had on over.

You see, the siblings lived in a small wooden house that fit perfectly with the two of them. It was in the middle of the woods, tall trees covering up the sight that was in front of the home. Their dad passed away when they were younger, Yasu being fifteen while Aiko was ten. He was a demon slayer, a Hashira for a fact. They were inspired by him and wanted to become demon slayers, wanting to save people from heartless demons and train to be on the same rank as him.

The siblings' dad always joked with them and no matter what, always said; "Haha! Until, you guys are older!"

One day, his kasugai crow came perched on the window sill of the house, repeating urgent messages of an Upper Rank demon surrounding an area that was near but far away from the family. Aiko and Yasu were told about these demons from their dad, making their faces convert into a worried and anxious one once they heard about an Upper Rank being near. The older man noticed and smiled reassuringly at them, telling the two that it'll be okay, and he'll be back as soon as possible.

The assurance somewhat eased a bit of tension that Yasu had, but Aiko was still terrified. She didn't want to lose her dad. He was so important to her and Yasu, and she couldn't even imagine the thought of one of her loved ones dying from a demon. Her older brother, noticing her tense shoulders, held her hand comfortingly, trying to soothe her.

Tears welled up in her eyes, them being glossy now. Her lips trembled slightly, the dad noticing. He sadly smiled, stepping towards his daughter and cupping her cheeks as he wiped her cascading tears. These were the last words he said to her and her brother,

"If I don't come back tomorrow, don't come looking for me. Instead, go straight to Urokodaki's right away, okay? He'll take care of you guys...I love you both so, so much. Goodbye, Aiko and Yasu..."
