Three days had passed, and finally here the soldiers were now. Matvey Ardelion, who was known as Nurse Emma's close friend, was leading 5 other soldiers with 2 horse-drawn carriages. His stature was large and authoritative, with a piercing emerald-colored gaze, and short dark brown hair. At first glance, this man would have been rather terrifying if he hadn't smiled at the sight of Nurse Emma for so long.

"How are you, Matvey?" Nurse Emma seemed to spread her arms, welcoming the big man into her arms.

"I'm fine, and missed you a bit." He joked, causing Nurse Emma to accidentally push the man away, and their warm embrace broke apart.

"Wh-what the hell was that?" Seeing Nurse Emma's flushed face made Army Matvey chuckle lightly.

"But I-"

"Um, sorry to interrupt. I honestly really appreciate meeting between you guys. But we don't have time here. So, do you mind-?" I cut off soldier Matvey's speech and instantly had him direct his deadly, piercing gaze at me. But I didn't flinch at all, because what I was more concerned about was Bertholdt's condition.

Nurse Emma chuckled but soon returned to a serious face, "Reiner is right. Please forgive our small talk. All of you, please come in and help us carry the things these children need later."

They obeyed and flocked in to bring up the medicines, a few pieces of packs, and a bag full of food on the train. These were all supplies to return to the dormitory later. Even these 3 days, nurse Emma and another nurse made clothes for Bertholdt and me.

"Alright, you guys should-"

BAMM!!!

A loud bang cut off Nurse Emma's conversation. We immediately turned our heads to the East where the bang came from. Gradually, the screams of the residents began to be heard, followed by the sound of other explosions that echoed each other.

"Oh my Lord, what's going on?!"

"Nurse Emma!!! Run and save your life! Rod's dogs are ravaging this place blindly!!!"

Hearing the shout of one of the residents, we all widened our eyes. Rod Reiss's dogs had come all the way here looking for us. Nurse Emma picked Bertholdt up and handed him over to Mr. Matvey. Bertholdt's body was held in the arms of two soldiers along with essential supplies such as medicine.

"Reiner, you have to go in! Hurry up!"

Followed by me who was carried by nurse Emma to quickly get into the last horse-drawn carriage. "Emma, come with me to the dormitory. You can be the nurse of the children and other soldiers there, please."

Mr. Matvey's words made Nurse Emma smile bitterly, as the thin hand gently removed Mr. Matvey's grip on her arm, "Since I founded this orphanage, I've dedicated my life here, Matvey. I cannot leave this place."

"But I-!!!"

"Matvey Ardelion, promise me to protect Reiner and Bertholdt no matter what. You must keep your promise to me."

"... I promise."

Nurse Emma smiled, touching Mr. Matvey's gaunt cheek one last time before parting, "now go."

I just watched that moment in silence, seeing the destruction of this district behind Nurse Emma's frail body as we destroyed it directly, made me sad. And unfortunately that moment didn't last long. I caught Nurse Emma's hand slipping something onto Mr. Matvey's back. As soon as something was pressed down, a thin but extremely strong and unbreakable rope tied Mr. Matvey's body tightly in a circular fashion. In the midst of the shock, it became an opportunity for Nurse Emma to push Mr. Matvey into the carriage.
