Solo Arc Chapter 27: The Tournament Begins!

– Beacon Academy: Dance hall –

Jaune was grinning at the dance hall as he had Baruka and some of his lighter units of the archery division helping with decorations. It will be a night to remember as the school readied itself for the dance before preliminaries began in two days.

He was grinning at knowing Cinder was counting on Neo being free and wanting to free Roman. An angle the thief with her new S ranked strength was more than willing to use to her advantage against Cinder.

Neo had approached Cinder and her two lackeys at the beginning of dance week and brought them up to their made up speed, using a cover story she made using her original disguise to get close to us.

She told them that JNPR and RWBY were equal in strength to most B ranked huntsman and that Jaune and Pyrrha were solid A ranks. Hence why they were able to fight and take down Adam.

Cinder nods and concedes that point and asks what they can do.

Neo goads them to continue their virus plan as Neo has been monitoring the school security for weeks now and nothing has alerted the champions of the light to their presence in school. Cinder nods and has the plan begin to unfold as she gets the disc from Watts ready to upload into the cities servers.

Neo even volunteers to help Cinder on the mission to keep her hidden from guards and to avoid alerting the entire Atlas fleet stationed in the school.

Cinder was ready to destroy any guards in her way, but agreed that tipping the security and the headmasters to someone messing with their computers would be a bad move. Especially when considering how powerful each headmaster was. And there were two of them at the academy at the moment!

She played it carefully.

And the night of the virus went off without a hitch.

However a small change was made.

As Cinder, with Neos illusion and the thief herself aiding the false maiden, were leaving the computer tower, Neo dropped a flash drive into a computer desks shadow. Where a light eye opened up and Iron grabbed it.

He put it into the right computer and an isolation and virus destruction program was put in place.

And the final nail in the virus plans coffin, was where a false virus program would feed fake data to Cinder during her time in Beacon until her plan was revealed.

Meanwhile the new program would do it's work to derail Cinders plans for the school and its visiting robot army from Atlas.

At the dance Cinder and Neo come in their dresses.

Cinder in her fancy black one, Neo in her sheep faunus disguise and a nice pink background ice cream girl themed dress. It had thick furls on the sleeves, but not in an annoying or overdone way, they stopped at her elbows where she had on white elbow length gloves, her leggings were half brown and half pink, with the dress reaching knee length. Her heels were her iconic boots that matched it pretty well in the grand scheme of her motif and design.

Neo was secretly hoping to get a dance with Jaune in making it be a way to "know the target" in case Cinder and her team ask questions about why she would want to dance with the main threat.

Speaking of said target.

What Neo was after the most was currently on the dance floor being admired by a very happy Pyrrha, who was enjoying a wonderful energetic couples dance as they swayed and sashayed across the floor to the music playing at that moment.

– Back at the start of the dance –

Pyrrha and Jaune went as an official couple to the dance to make sure people knew they were dating. But also to keep up appearances to other spies Neo may have missed, so that Cinder and her agents were none the wiser to their knowledge of her plans.
