"Wait so she used my computer to try and launder money under my name?"

Nailea has spent the last hour catching me up on everything that I've missed and I just can't believe what I've heard.

"Yes, we have everything handled-"

"No, is this bitch still employed here? Why would she think that I would need to steal three million dollars? Has she met me?"

"Apparently not. Listen, she's been fired and I'm handling the situation. The situation is handled," she said as she looked at me sternly.

I sighed loudly in annoyance, "What time should I be at the courthouse tomorrow?"

"You should be there by 9:30am."

"Okay, I'll see you then," I stood up from my seat walking over to the door. As I went to open it, I heard Nailea calling my name. I turned around looking at her waiting for her to say something. When she didn't answer, I took the initiative to speak, "What's up?"

"Are we not going to discuss why we ended things? I told you why I did what I did and you brushed past it."

"There's nothing to discuss," I said in a quiet tone.

"There's a lot to discuss Aspen. I love you and I want you back-"

"You want me back? How much more unreasonable can you possibly be? Instead of coming to me about the situation you pushed me away and broke up with me. Do you know how long I spent trying to understand where I went wrong? Especially because you ended things right after the date."

"I know and I'm sorry-"

"No, you don't get to apologize. I'm not done speaking. I understand that you were trying to protect me but look how things ended up. Instead, my name is involved in the situation and I have to attend court with you tomorrow in case I have to be called to the stands!"

I sighed loudly at the end of my sentence suddenly feeling out of breath. Nailea continued to look at me as her expression softened. She walked over to me as we stood face to face.

"Can I touch you?" She asked as she eyed me intensely.

"Where?"

She tilted her head at me narrowing her eyes, "Not down there!"

"Oh, then yes."

She grabbed my cupped my face in her hands as she brushed my hair behind my ears, "First off, I would like to apologize. I understand how I could've handled the situation differently. I thought that if I just kept you away from the problem, it would've benefited you in the end but it didn't."

I waved my hand signaling her to continue.

"Secondly, I never wanted to end things with you. I love you and I always will. I hope that you can find it in your heart to forgive me and understand where I'm coming from," she stepped away from me dropping her hands down to her side.
