Her eyes shimmered along with the stars, She could hear them—the giggles, chattering, and whispers of the stars. The young goddess started to raise her hand and reached out to the cosmic sky. She wanted to meet them, her heart grew so lonely that she became desperate enough to try to touch stars out of reach.'One day, we'll be able to talk to each other."
That was when the stars fell in love with a Goddess that still contained her innocence.
Ace, Deuce, and Serenity, while still holding Grim, made it to the Mirror Chamber. Serenity took the chance to look at the many mirrors and saw a few she remembered when first introducing herself. In the middle of the chamber was a large heavily decorated Mirror twice the size of the others. She looked in amazement at its beauty while Ace grimaced to himself.
"Man, How did I end up in this mess? I swear, I have the worst luck."
The ginger rubbed his neck but Deuce kept marching on with a rather determined face.
"We don't have time to complain. Let's go. Dark Mirror! Take us to the Dwarfs' Mine!"
The Mirror swirled with powerful magic, everyone walked into the mirror. Serenity is the last one to enter.
"So this is the Dwarfs' Mine.....Long ago, this mine was flush with magestones."
Grim shivered at the sight of the old rundown mine.
"Urgh...Who knows what lurks in there now?"
Serenity held him tighter, for some reason, this place was housing something old and dead. Not like the ghosts back at the shack but this soul was tainted and dark. Serenity shivered at the sight and started to be more afraid of what was in this Mine. Ace turned his head to see a house nearby.
"Look, I can see a house. Let's see what people there have to say."
They made their way to the house, giving a few knocks before opening the door. Grim took the chance to hop out of Serenity's arms and walked around the abandoned home before he walked into a spiderweb.
"Bwah! I got a spider web on my face! Ptchoo!Ptchoo!!"
"Look how tiny these desks and chairs are. Did children live here? One...Two........Seven! It's like a clown car in here!"
Ace counted the number of chairs and reeled back at the amount. Deuce soon came beside Ace.
"It was probably when the Mine was flourishing. This house must been a lively place."
This dampened Ace's mood.
"Well, this isn't getting us anywhere. If we're gonna find a magestone, it'll be inside the Mine. Let's head inside and take a look."
...........
Serenity doesn't like this one bit. She was sure something was in the Mine as she stood at its entrance. Her body shook in fear.
"You wanna go inside THERE!? It's pitch black!"
"What, are you scared of the dark? Pathetic."
Ace sneered with a mocking grin on his face. Grim picked up his mocking tone rather quickly.
"What, no! I'm not scared, I....I-I'm just worried. Look how scared Nitty is right now."
The boys turned their attention to Serenity she was clinching her hands close to her chest and slightly cowered. She reminded them of a frightened rabbit.
"Nitty? I thought her name was Serenity."
Ace chimed in when he noticed the name Grim was calling her was different from how she introduced herself.
"It is, but her name was too long for me so I'm calling her Nitty. Look she doesn't mind at all."
Deuce kept his eyes on the young goddess. He could remember the first time he saw her during the orientation, and her presence caused almost all of the first years in Heartslabyul to become rather obsessed with her. But Heartslabyul's obsession could not hold a candle to what he heard from Pomefiore, he heard their vice-warden was collecting all and anything involving the girl and was making a shrine dedicated just for her.....but that's just rumors. Looking at her now he could understand why she was gaining all this attention but he could tell she was not used to it, with how her small figure shivered at any sight of danger.
"Umm...Serenity, right? You don't have to come inside with us. You can stay here until we come out."
Deuce bent down to her eye level and talked to her softly, but his face flushed with a heavy blush and he could feel his hands become sweaty. Her eyes made him aware of how ethereal she was compared to most. But her petite stature gave Deuce a strange desire to protect her. Deuce was interrupted by his inner thought from the irritated voice of Ace.
"Look, either she comes or not but I'm not gonna wait for her."
Ace, with all his arrogant bravado, strutted into the mine. Grim followed behind, Deuce hesitated a bit before also walking in. Serenity looked at their backs as they disappeared into the mine, she was frightened to go inside. Something was in there, something old, filthy, and corrupted. Its uncontained rage and sorrow rang in her ears and her eyes shook. She was a coward, a poor excuse of a goddess. She tightly shut her eyes as she remembered the cruel words once told to her.
'I could never understand why Lady Asteria left us you, you can't even summon any of your zodiacs....What a useless child.'
She could still remember his cold scarlet eyes looking down at her, his words struck her heart. He was right, she's nothing but a useless child, a pathetic excuse of a Goddess. Tears burned her eyes as she looked down in shame.
'My Little Lady shouldn't be crying.'
Serenity jumped at the voice, a deep but affectionate voice. She looked around to see who was talking but saw no one.
'You're as precious as you were when you were little.
A bright ball of light lit up right before Serenity's eyes. Its shimmering light reflected off from Serenity's cosmic eyes. It was just a ball of light but the way it flew around her and hid in her long hair gave it a playful personality.
'Go to them, my Lady. They would need your help.'
The strange ball of light pushed her into the entrance of the Mine, she looked on into the dark entrance before turning around. But it was gone, just like it suddenly appeared it was suddenly gone. Turning her head she decided to reevaluate what just happened to her at a later time, now she has to help Grim, Ace, and Deuce. She slightly picked up her dress and ran into the Mine in hopes of meeting up with the others.
I would like to apologize for the short chapter, since school is approaching I won't be on the story 24/7. But I can promise that other chapters will be longer.
Thank you
