My phone buzzed from my pocket as Son-hwan was finishing up the day and I was packing up his things from the trailer:
Seok-jin: Hey, how is the job going?
I quickly typed a message before Son-hwan noticed I wasn't near him like he wanted:
오빠, he is literally the most difficult person I've ever met and I'm from Chicago.
Seok-jin: You will be fine. Just be respectful, and do your best.
Sighing out of defeat, I slip my phone away and noticed Son-hwan had came into the trailer and was leaning against a wall. He was upset again. He always seemed to be upset around me. "What is it now?"
"Nothing," he said, grabbing the water from my hands and drinking it. I frown before shifting the stuff in my arms to the left side so it's easier to carry. "What's next on my schedule?"
"Oh..uhh let's see." I quickly check the folder and his schedule, for once he didn't snap at me. Maybe he was tired and didn't feel like berating me for once. That'll be a dream. "You are done for today. Tomorrow you do have a meeting with your agent after work and then a late night talk show around 930 but other than that, nothing."
I smiled up at him when I closed the folder, he was looking at me so I frowned. "What?"
He shook his head and started walking out to the car. I followed suit, trying to keep up. "Let's go to the cafe, I need a coffee and you need to learn my coffee order."
I nodded and finally made it close enough so I could hear him properly. I opened the door and held my hand over his head so he wouldn't bump the top of the door, slipping in after him. I tell the driver, to the cafe, even if my pronunciation was a bit off, he understood and immediately pulled off.
Once we made it to the cafe, I got out and him followed suit. I close the door and walked into the cafe. Jeju cafes were so nice and aesthetically pleasing, you can't help but admire it even if you've been there before.
Son-hwan walks up to the counter, pulling his sunglasses on top of his head before I quickly reached up to put them back down, earning a glare at him. "Don't touch the glasses, foreigner."
"Foreigner? Seriously? Pretty cliché, don't you think? Its not that hard to say my name." I clicked my tongue at him. "Besides, even if Jeju is a island, you're a celebrity, lets keep the fans to a minimum, if you even have any."
The last comment must have hit a nerve because it caused him to snap his neck towards me with a glare. Even though he had his glasses on, I could definitely feel it burning my skin. I shrugged, shifting my tablet in my arms, motioning him towards the cashier who was waiting patiently.
He was annoyed, you could tell. He lifted his glasses back up on his head and held up his hand to me. He must of thought I was going to pull it down again, which I was. He was stubborn. But so was I.
After ordering his drink, I wrote the order down: Ice Caramel Coffee with double cream and three sugars, 5 ice cubes only.
Specific much?
I quickly paid for the drink with the company card since he just walked away without another word and went back into the car. Giving the girl a smile, I took the receipt and slid over to the other side to let whoever was next, go.
Eventually someone called the number from the ticket and I quickly rushed over to grab the cup, saying my goodbyes and thank you.
"Son-hwan, wait!" I called as I rushed to the car, opening the door and handing him the drink and then sliding in before closing the door.
"Took you long enough." Son-hwan scoffed and I rolled my eyes.
He was starting to act like a real piece of work. "You are starting to get on my nerves."
"Then quit. No one told you to stay."
"Trust me, as much as I would love to, I can't. I need to pass my exam." I confessed through gritted teeth.
Now it was his turn to roll his eyes. He tapped his driver and he went off. "Now where are we going?"
"Dropping you off at your hotel. You're done for today. My driver will pick you up at 630 sharp, so make sure you're ready." He said as we drove.
As much as I enjoy being an assistant to an overly annoying actor, I don't want to deal with him anymore than I have to. Note the sarcasm.
After a while of driving, we finally pulled up to the hotel. "Thanks, see you tomorrow then."
I was too tired to give any other reaction or argue with him. "Yeah, tomorrow." Was all he said before I got out of the car and walked up to the entrance. I found Minnie talking to the man at the front dance when I came in.
"Minnie?" I walked over, curious why she was here.
"Ah, Red. How was your first day? You didn't kill him, did you?" Minnie asked, raising a brow, concerned at the last question.
I laugh before shaking my head. "No, that would be illegal and it was definitely interesting."
"Okay, good. I think you'll do fine for the next few months." She tapped my shoulder before wrapping an arm through mine. "Are you hungry?"
"Starving. I wanted to get a cake from that cafe but Son-hwan was in a rush so I couldn't." I whined, holding onto the folder and tablet in my hands a bit tighter as it was starting to slip.
"Awesome, I'm thinking cold noodles, its very hot." She suggested and I thought about it. I didnt feel so hot. Maybe arguing with Son-hwan distracted me so much that I forgot about it.
"Have you had it before?" She continued to ask.
I shake my head. "I don't believe so. But I'm always down for new things. I have a feeling that I'll be trying a lot of new things with you guys."
She laughed as she linked arms with me and we started towards the door before I stop in my tracks. "Wait, let me put my tablet and folder in my room. Where is my room?"
"Oh, right. Room 103. Figured it'll be easier for you."
I looked at her with a grateful look, sighing in relief. "You have literally saved my life this entire month. 감사해요.
"I know, you're welcome." She said as she unlinked my arms and gave me the keys. I ran to the room, thankfully I didnt have to take an elevator. Unlocked the door and saw my bags around in there. I placed the tablet and folder on the desk and walked back out. I met Minnie again then linked arms again.
"Now...lets go." I said, laughing.
"Lets go." She said as she guided me to the restaurant.
