"You haven't told us yet what is going on in your mind." Samuel came to Clinton and said. He did a playful gesture with his eyebrows when Clinton looked up at him.
"Dude, what's wrong, you've been quiet ever since." David said, an eye glancing at Clinton.Clinton had been silent throughout their ride to the clubhouse. They wondered in the car if it was something to do with his family's dinner as they watched his quiet mood. The boys had expected him to fill them with details about the dinner when they drove to pick him at his crib. Clinton only produced sighs that made them look briefly at each other with curiosity.
David's attention was focused on the snooker table. Playing with Harrison was a competition. Harry was always defeating the boys in the game. He was so good in it that Daniel had suggested teasingly once that he opened up a snooker gambling hall with an idea he could make millions from it, 'it would be fun, you know, instead of sitting behind a desk handling a whole lot of boring work.' Daniel had uttered with a laugh. Harry shook his head after pretending to be interested in the idea.
"My father could die of a heart attack. Just as he says, he's investing so much on me so I can continue the family's legacy. The old man would freak out." Harrison had said before hitting three red balls straight into a pocket of the side table.
"Yeah, being the only child is a whole lot of work on its part. You're expected to do everything and get it right." Daniel nodded quite frankly. As the only child also, he knew how much of an importance he meant for his family. Especially for the bloodline business. He'd been pressured into pursuing science and technology although he wanted to just sit around playing his guitar. The boys had driven together to the popular billiard club in the city where they normally visited, to catch some fun and discuss Clinton's land sightseeing after unfortunately the previous had been canceled.
They shared quite some cups of drinks, enjoying the music in the background. Daniel had booked the place until evening so Clinton wouldn't get irritated and run off again.
David gave up playing the game and gave Harrison his credit by bestowing him a handshake of praise and backslapping, bowing a little with a smile. "you're too good." he didn't fail to add.
"I know." Harry grinned at David who smiled back and walked to sit on the table they occupied. Harry clapped when Daniel scored two tries at once.
"Go on." Daniel says to Harry, pointing to the snooker board. He watched the brown haired boy pay concentration on the table before shooting. He was lucky again.
"That's incredible." Daniel alerts. "how do you do this?" he says with a hand on his waist.
"This is my skill." Harrison boasted.
"Trust me if we meet in the field, you would be going home with nothing." Daniel looked at him smile with a shrug. He moved over to the left to position the cue at a colored ball."You did what?" David exclaimed with a pinched laughter. He was gazing at Clinton. He looked at the eyes of Samuel who by the look on his face was controlling himself not to laugh at Clinton's revelation.
"We should be part of the discussion, shouldn't we?" Harrison came to occupy a seat. David's expression of surprise had made the two boys leave the game they were playing for the table with interest.Daniel poured himself a drink and brought his eyes at Samuel who seemed to avoid them. "Who did what?" The eyes clocked at the direction of David even though he knew he should be looking at Clinton.
"Clinton should tell. I can't." he says, throwing his hands out.Clinton heaved another long sigh, taking the drink Harry poured for himself and gulping it in a haste. He squeezed his eyes shut, feeling the hotness of the flavor. He sighed yet again, wishful he gets over the profound feeling he felt. Harry and Daniel waited patiently to be told whatever the story was. Harry was starting to speak about how he should be calm whatever the issue may be when Clinton uttered immediately, "I made out with my family's cleaner."
