FAYE KINGSLEY
After that night, I couldn't shake off what Yoko had said.
"Yoko, I... I didn't mean to—" I stammered, but she cut me off with a wave of her hand.
"Save it. You think you're so clever, don't you? But you're just another fool in my way," she said, her voice dripping with disdain.
I was taken aback. "I don't understand. What did I do to you?"
Yoko stepped closer, her eyes narrowing. "You exist," she hissed. "And that's enough."
"Yoko, please, I don't want any trouble," I pleaded, my voice shaking.
"Trouble finds you, Fayeton. Whether you want it or not," she replied, her gaze unwavering. "And let me give you a piece of advice: Stay out of my way."
She hates me, right? What did I do to her? She hates me, but she helped me that night to hide from her friends and fans so I wouldn't get beaten up. Arghh, it's making my mind crazy, or even crazier. This is nuts.
And just as she said to stay out of her way, I’ve been hiding from Yoko for almost a week now, not just from her but from her crazy friends and supporters too. Whenever they see me, they give me nasty looks.
There's a time when they even chased me when I was alone on my way back to the dorm. Why? Probably to finish what they planned to do to me last time. They’re really crazy bastards.
So, I told Eliana and Stephanie that I won't be joining them during free time or when heading back to the dorm for a while so they wouldn't get involved in the mess I'm dealing with.
At first, they refused.
"What?! Are you serious?" Stephanie dramatically gasped.
"Duh, Faye, that's why there are three of us, we can handle them. One slap from me and they’ll be knocked out," Eliana said, making Stephanie laugh.
"Right, Eliana, we shouldn't leave Faye alone. But bitch, what do you mean one slap and they’re knocked out? You barely managed to land a punch on one of them last time," Stephanie teased.
“So what?” Eliana shot back, mock indignation in her voice. “We should stick together! We are the Powerpuff Girls! We can handle anything when we’re united.”
Stephanie struck a superhero pose and added, “Yeah! Nothing can stop us when we’re together!”
“Oh my God, you bitches are impossible,” I said, shaking my head.
Eliana grinned. “Impossible or not, we’re in this together. Now, tell us about this mess. Maybe we can blow it away with our superpowers.”
“Enough, girls,” I said, trying to sound serious. “That was our first and last fight here. We need to be careful, and I want you both to stay safe.”
"Hey Stephanie, do you hear something? Sounds like the reason we got into that fight is speaking," Eliana teased back.
There's a long silence between us.
"Okay, fine. Eliana and I will agree not to walk you home as long as you join us during break time, and call us if anything happens," Stephanie finally conceded.
And so, they agreed. But in terms of avoiding Yoko, I see her every day. I just look away and change my path quickly. I don't want to get into trouble.
As for Jade, I spend a lot of time with her, especially during dinner at the cafeteria. The gossip that I'm her boyfriend won’t die down. It’s stressful because if I weren't in disguise, we’d be bestie goals. Sometimes I get jealous because she can wear makeup, and her hair curls so beautifully.
