"What did I told you?" Yoko's voice cut through the room, cold and sharp.

"Uh, we're really sorry, please forgive us," one of the guys stammered, nervousness evident in his shaky voice.

"We didn't mean to hurt him," another chimed in, his face pale.

"We just got carried away," someone added, his eyes wide with fear.

"Shut it. Give me the medical kit and get out. Don't show your faces to me again. And remember this, lay a finger on him again, and you'll regret it," Yoko's voice was a menacing whisper, dripping with icy resolve.

These were the voices I heard around me. I opened my eyes slightly and saw the guys who had beaten me up-and there she was, Yoko.

I was in an unfamiliar room, but from what I could see, it looked like I'm in Yoko's office, the student council president's office.

Once they left, I shut my eyes, pretending to still be unconscious. It was nerve-wracking.

I felt someone sit beside me and a sharp pain on my lip as she started cleaning my wounds. It hurts like crazy, but I tried my best not to make a sound.

"I know you're awake now, Fayeton," Yoko said softly, her tone betraying a hint of amusement.

I didn't respond and kept my eyes shut.

"Why did you let them off with just a few bruises? You should've done better." She continued, a strange mix of irritation and concern in her voice.

That made me open my eyes and meet her gaze, surprised to see a hint of worry quickly replaced by her usual unreadable expression.

"What do you mean? There were so many of them compared to me. And wait, why am I here? I'll be in so much trouble if I don't make it back to the dorm!" I panicked as I noticed it was already 11 PM.

"I just hate everything you've been doing this whole week. I fucking hate it, Fayeton," Yoko snapped, her frustration is really visible and not minding how I panicked about my curfew.

"What did I do? I've been following your orders, avoiding you whenever I see you, I'm always keeping my distance!" I was genuinely confused.

"I don't know. I just hate everything you're doing," she muttered, her voice softening.

Girls are really confusing! Oh wait, I'm a girl too.

We fell into silence, the room filled with unspoken words. I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that she had technically kidnapped me, yet here she was, treating my wounds.

"It's all done. There's a room on the right side where you can sleep, Fayeton," Yoko said, standing up.

"What is this really about, Yoko?" I asked, desperate for answers.

We sat facing each other, and a heavy silence between us.

"Are you and Jade a thing?" she finally asked, her voice tight.

"It's none of your business if we are or aren't," I said, trying to sound nonchalant and maintain my composure, but I saw her clench her jaw.

Oh crap, I remember this is Yoko. Great, now I've pissed off the student council president and also the most powerful person here.

We stared at each other, tension crackling in the air, and I couldn't stand still. My eyes darted around the room, landing anywhere but on her. I heard her laugh softly.
