[ After School That Day... ]
Nicole glared at Jenesis. "You ready to lose?"
"As if, Me and my partner will annhilate you." Jenesis' eyes began to glow green.
Bryan stood from afar and watched this start to become hectic. He took some steps forward and stood between them. "This is already going too far. Focus on the projects."
Nicole stared in awe. "You came!"
"I thought you weren't going to come since you just brushed me off but I'm glad in any case." She walked to her side and held a sphere with a blue button on it. "Jenesis, meet the ball that will defeat you in one tap."
"You think a ball will beat us?" Kelly entered the scene with a purple cube. It began to glow then dimmed immediately. "Think twice."
"Maybe we'll see you in next year's competition?" Jenesis questioned before laughing. "Although I doubt you will be there after we embarrass you."
"Fucking bitch." Nicole muttered as she went away.
Bryan stared at Jenesis and Kelly, feeling annoyed. 'Tomorrow, I topple you both from the Top 5.'
[ Presentation Time ]
Jenesis introduced the cube. "Introducing our invention, the cube of time!"
"It allows for whoever it chooses to control time and manipulate it to their best desires!" Kelly added on.
"Not only that," Jenesis pointed to it. "But it may or may not include some historical parts to it."
"Cheap ass." Nicole muttered.
"Well that was something!" The Judge clapped and watched as it glowed. "This really is my favorite one right now. Can the other contestants beat it though is my question?"
Nicole huffed and then watched as the light brightened up on her. "I didn't need anything historical."
"Because I," She clicked the button on the sphere she held. Their surrounding area turned into a gaming arcade. "Have created a hologram so advanced it makes you feel as if you're feeling what you're seeing."
She gave a stern look to Jenesis before continuing on. "Take a look at this."
She clicked the button again and multiple people appeared. "They aren't real but you can speak to them."
"Hey Nicole!" One person said to her. "Where have you been? It was like you teleported or something!"
She deactivated it. "It took lots of skill and talent but putting it to the test, this has the potential for training grounds and can help us better our powers and learn how to use them."
"Very nice indeed!" The Judge clapped for Nicole. "Magnificent... how could a high schooler have created such a thing that has never been done before?! I love it!"
"But can you compete with that, Leslie?" The Judge asked.
From the dark, an object was tossed from across the room. A girl came into the light. "My invention was destroyed before I could use it. Therefore, I give up."
"Oh my... well then, Let's see what the judges vote on. This will be a hard one!" The Judge walked back to his seat and began to write.
Bryan watched it go down.
The Purple Cube began to glow when he took a step forward.
"The Results are in!" The Judge got back up and looked through each vote. "Mhmmm, okay, I see! The Winner here is clear to us three."
"Give it up for..."
"NICOLE!" The Judge announced her as the winner. "She truly revolutionized the way we train. I can see it evolving our future!"
"Great...!" Nicole looked to Jenesis and Kelly with a smile. They eyed the sphere ball and their eyes began to glow.
Nicole glanced to Bryan and passed it to him. "Teleport it to the lab."
"You got it." Bryan teleported it away.
Jenesis gasped and stared. "Nothing has been adding up today. That kid told me his power was about Ice. And Nicole, she lied about her invention being in Leslie's hands!"
'So you both destroyed that girl's invention?' Bryan raised an eyebrow.
He approached Nicole, getting closer. "Hey congrats. I know you gave it your all."
"Let's make a second version that I can tweak so that the NPC's actually can deal physical damage based on different difficulty." He explained to her. She nodded and gave him a thumbs up.
Kelly grabbed the purple cube and threw it at Nicole. "No... YOU CAN'T REPLACE JENESIS AND TAKE HER SPOT!"
Bryan caught the cube. "You aren't even that special. Why are you so pressed for?"
"Your spot is already falling apart." Nicole glared at her. "Someone's coming for it."
"I'd like to see you try!" Kelly glared at her.
Bryan lowered his eyes to see the purple cube glowing brighter than ever seen today.
His hand wouldn't let go of it. Even when he tried to blast his arm off, it would re-attach as if it were nothing.
The cube absorbed itself into his arm and everyone watched as it happened. Bryan looked at his hand. "Why does this feel... familiar?!"
"Bryan?!" Nicole ran to his side.
The glowing effect in his arm began to dim and he found himself panting for air. It wasn't worth the hassle.
He calmed down and stood back up. "What was that cube?!" He asked Kelly and Jenesis.
"Control over time, I believe."
Bryan felt that was wrong. "You liar! Did you even bother learning about the historical cubes?!"
"We have. Purple is the control of time." Jenesis said like she was convinced herself that it was too.
Bryan's eyes glowed purple. "Purple is the Corruption Cube. BLUE is the time cube."
"How would you know?" Kelly asked.
His skin turned grey and his veins glowed purple. It became clear to them that he was telling the truth.
His body went back to normal.
Nicole placed her hand on his back. "Why did it choose you...?"
"I don't know."
Bryan placed a hand on his chest. "But I don't like it."
[ A Week Later... ]
[ The Courtyard ]
"You actually came." Bryan's hair flew with the wind to the side.
Jenesis stood across from him, panting for air. "What did you want?"
Bryan smirked. "Isn't it obvious?"
He opened his arms and purple lightning shot around him. "It's about time the Top 5 is made up of people who deserved their spot. I'm coming for first place."
"And if you're against it," He charged up a laser beam and shot it towards her. "Try to stop me."
