"Alright, fine. You're family. You have an extra twenty minutes with her, and that's it." To Naigus, rules were rules.

"THANK YOU NAIGUS" To Spirit, he was with his only daughter. Naigus kicked him off her leg, then closed the door. Spirit stood up, brushing off his suit. "Well, Maka, we get some more time together! How about that?" He smiled as he walked over to Maka's bed, taking hold of her hand.

It had been only a year. Yet it seemed like more than 365 days since Spirit Albarn had last seen his daughter awake. The only connection he had to the world. Everyday since she had fallen into this coma, he visited Maka in her hospital bed. Everyday he told her about what happened with the outside world, and he stayed with her.

Whenever they could, her friends would join him and talk with her. Since Soul didn't have a meister, he was waiting for a new one (However, he was actually just waiting for Maka to wake up. He would let no one else wield him, and they couldn't anyway). Tsubaki had randomly developed a ring on her ring finger. Stein and Marie were married, with Crona as their adopted child.

Maka didn't show any responses to things like that.

But she had shown a few responses due to certain topics. When Medusa was mentioned in a passing conversation, her eye twitched. Every now and then, she'd squeeze Spirit's hand. And she smiled when her mother or Crona were brought up.

...

Spirit was finally forced out by Naigus, and now Maka was alone. She didn't see, hear, taste, smell, or feel anything. Naigus had left for the night, accidentally leaving the door unlocked.

The door slowly creaked open, and a tall yet very slim figure slipped in. The figure slowly approached Maka, careful to not trip over anything or knock it over. Unfortunately, they did. A small vase with lilies trembled back and forth, and the figure grabbed it before it fell, only spilling a few drops of water onto Maka's face.

"Oh, phew." Crona set the vase back on its shelf, awkwardly sitting down onto the chair placed next to the bed. They wiped off the spilled drops off of her. She seemed at peace and calm. She wore simple striped pj's, her blonde hair gently falling over her shoulders. Various machines were hooked up to her body, checking blood pressure and heartbeat and all things like that.

Crona sat there, not sure what to do.

Just talk, I guess..

"Uh, hi Maka. It's been a while.. do you remember me? It's Crona. Um, I hope you're doing okay.. well, besides the whole coma thing.." They cleared their throat. "Well, I just want to make sure you're okay since you haven't woken up. Sorry I didn't visit sooner.. I really wanted to, but the DWMA, since, um.. they held me back for a while and I kinda.. snuck in.. I'll be allowed to actually visit tomorrow, but I really wanted to see you.."

Crona shifted.

"Maka.. I really wish you'd wake up.. we're scared for you.. and.. uh.. I.. I l-lo.. oh God.." Crona put their face in their hands, blushing. "I can't do it.." Ragnarok popped out, scoffing.

"Coward. I'll do it. Hey, dumb blonde!" He yelled. Crona quickly shushed him.

"Stop that! We'll get caught! A-and don't call her that!" They whisper-yelled.

"Don't care. Dumb blonde, this stupid girl is in love with you." A moment of silence. "See, that wasn't too hard. Now, you gotta tell her your goddamn self."

"W-well, what if she wakes up?"

"Then good for you, I guess??" Ragnarok brought his hand down on their head.

"Ow, ow, okay!"

...

The next morning, Spirit, Soul, and Crona were brought to the infirmary. Death accompanied them, escorting Crona. Despite the fact that Medusa was dead, it was possible she was actually still alive and could manipulate Crona again.
