~Five months. Five long months had passed since that day—an ache that never really left Y/n. The loss of her mother still hung around her like a heavy fog, and the anger towards her father simmered just beneath the surface. Who wouldn't feel that way after everything?
Today wasn't just any day; it was the day she'd been preparing for—the day she'd leave for Kyoto. The journey would only take 27 minutes, but to Y/n, it felt like the start of a new chapter, one she both anticipated and dreaded.
Dressed in her favorite clothes (your fit), she stepped out of her room, a mix of nerves dancing in her stomach. Standing outside were her elders, their faces lit up with warm smiles. They felt like a safety net, and she needed that.
"Y/n-chan!" one of them called out, their voice soft and reassuring. "We just wanna wish you all the best. Remember, you can always contact us, okay?"
"Yeah, and keep that mask on," another elder added, his eyes twinkling with kindness. "Only those you truly trust should see your face."
Their words wrapped around her like a comforting blanket. She couldn't help but nod, feeling a mixture of gratitude and sadness. Though they bore the burden of tradition, she understood the love behind it.
"I will." she replied, her voice steady yet tender. She offered them a small bow, a gesture of respect that she'd been taught since childhood.
"Kiwotsukete! Be careful, Y/n-chan!" they chorused. Their warmth felt like a flame, flickering in her chest.
Once more, she nodded in acknowledgment before making her way to the gate. The car was waiting, shiny and inviting.
After loading her belongings into the backseat, Y/n slipped inside, taking a moment to breathe deeply. She adjusted the nape of her top, feeling the fabric brush against her skin, grounding her.
As the car pulled away from the familiar surroundings, she turned once more to wave goodbye, a bittersweet smile on her face. The road before her was uncertain, but for the first time in a long while, she felt a flicker of hope ignite within her.

As Y/n drove down the winding path that led to the school, she couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement. Nestled in the sacred grounds of Kyoto, the school stood majestic, surrounded by the whispers of ancient trees and the gentle sound of a nearby waterfall. The sunlight filtered through the leaves, painting everything in vibrant hues that made the whole scene feel like a dream.
She rolled up the car window to catch a clearer view, her heart racing at the sight of the cascading water. At the end of the tranquil setting was the entrance of school.
Squinting her eyes, she noticed two figures standing just outside the school gates. "Stop right there," she instructed the driver, the command spilling effortlessly from her lips. He nodded instantly, slowing the car to a halt.
As the vehicle came to a stop, the two figures turned to her. One was an elderly man with a long, bald head, his presence emanating wisdom. Beside him stood a woman in a traditional miko outfit, a noticeable scar gracing the right side of her face.
"Is it that masked girl already?" the old man questioned, his gaze flickering toward Y/n.
"I think it is already," the woman responded, her footsteps graceful as she approached Y/n.
Feeling a wave of nervous energy, Y/n took a deep breath, opened her car door, and stepped out. Interacting with people she don't know was not her forte, so she wore a faint smile as she faced them.
