The Worst Woman's Favorite Son

(Hey y'all! Quick TW for rather dark themes this chapter.)

It's been hours since the boys had left. Katsumi was stuck pacing the house as Keikiko frowned.

"Katsumi, sit down. I'm sure they're alright! Tenya and Kirishima are perfectly capable of themselves." Keikiko stated.

Katsumi sighed before saying, "It's not them that I'm worried about. It's Riku. Call it a mother's intuition, but something feels wrong."

"Don't worry so much. I'm sure they're fine!"

And of course it's at that moment that the man is proven wrong. Riku storms into the house, not even sparing his parents a glance as he stomps up to his room, icy footprints following after him. A few seconds later, Kirishima and Tenya walked through the doorway,  both of whom looked concerned.

"What happened?!" Katsumi questioned.

Kirishima snarled before saying, "Some lady named Izado got him all riled up! Made him sing and everything! She was so unmanly!"

Katsumi seemed to pale as Keikiko outwardly groaned.

"Kirishima, how about I drive you home? Tenya can explain everything on the way." Keikiko offered.

Begrudgingly, the red head agreed, letting Tenya lead him out. Once they were gone, Katsumi mouthed a silent thank you to her husband. This was not going to be fun.

"I- I'm sorry!"

"It hurts! P- please stop!"

Breathe in. Breathe-

"Riku? Are you there sweetie?"

Riku froze. He knew that voice. He needed to calm down. He needed to-

"Mochi, I'm opening the door."

Katsumi walked in on a rather pitiful sight. Ice was seeping off a rather large blanket, covering Tenya's bed. The lump underneath it was trembling, seeming to flinch at the slightest noise, like a scared animal ready to bolt. Katsumi sat down on the floor quietly, making sure to give Riku the desired amount of space.

"Mochi, did she hurt you?" Katsumi questioned.

Riku chuckled bitterly before saying, "Not physically."

Katsumi inched closer to the bed before asking, "May I?"

The blanket shifted slightly, revealing Riku's face underneath. His blue eyes shone sadly as he nodded. With that, Katsumi climbed onto the bed, wasting no time in locking her youngest child in an embrace. Cold tears landed on her skin as Riku sobbed into her.

"Oh, Mochi...." Katsumi began, but was cut off by Riku.

"I thought I was doing better! I-I thought I wouldn't be scared anymore....", he said.

"Shh. I know honey. I know." Katsumi comforted.

After what felt like an eternity, the Deep Freeze user finally calmed down. Though, he still seemed pretty jumpy.

"....I think I'm ready.", he stated.

Katsumi gave him a confused look before asking, "Ready for what?"

Riku grimaced before saying, "To tell you what happened to me."
