**DISHAN'S POV**
I reached Mumbai and informed Maa that I had arrived, but no one talked to me except her. I don't know whether Deepak saw the papers I left on the table in the study room.

**2 MONTHS LATER**
I got a call from Deepak and answered it. This was the first time he had called me since I left home. My not-so-good brother...
Deepak: "What do you think of yourself? And what did you think of me while giving that property? Listen, I don't want your charity. Keep your property to yourself."
Dishan: "What I think of myself doesn't matter. And it's wrong to say that I gave it as charity. Since I left the house and you all don't talk to me or consider me family, why should I keep that property? You can keep it as a gift from your once so-called brother."
Deepak: "I don't want anything. I am leaving it there. It has been handed over to you, so you are the owner of it. You have the habit of running away and handing your responsibilities to others."
Dishan: "You know the reason why I left."
Deepak: "Don't try to justify your actions. There were many ways you could have handled that situation better, but you chose to run. Bye. I don't have time to talk to you."
He cut the call. I knew there were many ways to handle it, but at that time, I could only think of leaving. That decision changed my life.

**AFTER 4 MONTHS**
I was recording a video for a vlog and handed my mobile to my friend, telling him not to pick up any calls.
After an hour, my friend handed me my mobile, saying someone named Deepak was calling continuously. Deepak! I quickly took my phone and saw 15 missed calls from him. I called him back, and he picked up on the second ring.
Deepak: "Where were you? I've been calling you for the past half hour."
Dishan: "Is everything alright? I was working, and my mobile was not with me."
Deepak: "Shut up and listen. Dad had a heart attack and is hospitalized. Mom told me to inform you."
Dishan: "What? When? I'm coming."
Deepak: "Okay. At City Hospital."
I cut the call and quickly logged in to a website to see if flight tickets were available. There were none. The train would take 16 hours.
I told my friends and left for home. I packed a few clothes and necessary items, then headed to the airport to see if emergency tickets were available.
I reached the airport after an hour and quickly went to the booking counter, asking if any tickets or emergency tickets were available. She informed me that only one business-class ticket was available. I told her to book it. The flight was in half an hour.
I boarded the flight, and after three hours, I reached Kozhikode.
---
It was 5 pm. I hadn't talked to Deepak since. I dialed his number again, but he didn't pick up. I called him several times, but he didn't answer.
I hoped Dad was fine and thought they must have done Dad's angioplasty surgery. I prayed that my Dad was safe and healthy.
I took a cab to the hospital. After half an hour, I reached the hospital and was about to ask the receptionist for directions when I saw Deepak there. What was he doing here?
I went near him and patted his shoulder. He looked at me with tearful eyes and hugged me tightly. I was afraid. Why was he crying like this? What had happened to Dad?
Dishan: "Deepak, how is Dad? Is he fine? Why are you crying?"
He continued crying, hugging me.
Deepak: "Dad... Dad... He had undergone angioplasty surgery. The surgery was successful, but Dad..."
Dishan: "Dad what? Say, Deepak."
He broke the hug and looked me in the eyes.
Deepak: "Dad is unconscious. If he doesn't regain consciousness by tomorrow, his life will be in danger. The doctor just told us this. I came outside after hearing it."
Dishan: "Maa... Who is with her then?"
Deepak: "Maa's brother from Mumbai. We have never met them before."
Dishan: "All these years, where were they? And suddenly, why did they come back into our lives?"
Deepak: "Anna, listen. At least they came. They arrived from Mumbai this morning, and after knowing about Dad, Uncle and his family came. Uncle's daughter is with Maa. She never left Maa's side."
I didn't say anything but couldn't trust them. All these years, we never met, and they suddenly came. Leave it. I heard my baby brother call me 'Anna' after a long time. I was happy.
Dishan: "Let's go inside. Nothing will happen to Dad. He will regain consciousness. Let's go near Ma. She needs us."
He nodded, and we both went inside. A girl was sitting near Maa. I recognized her. She was the same girl I met on the train 5-6 months ago.
How are we related? Deepak said that Uncle's daughter is with Maa. So she is my distant uncle's daughter. She also recognized me, I think. I went towards Maa and sat near her.
Dishan: "Maa, I am here now. Nothing will happen to Dad."
Maa started crying again, and that girl held Maa's hands.
Maa: "Dishu, please talk to your dad. Please tell him to wake up. Tell him to come back to us. His family is waiting for him."
Dishan: "Yes, I will tell him. He will not leave us. You stay here. Deepak and I are going to talk to the doctor."
She nodded, and I looked at that girl. She nodded, indicating she was there to look after Maa. Deepak and I left.
Uncle: "Radhya is here. I will also accompany you both."
