When Cassius walked into (Y/N)'s room, he had expected her to be there, sitting at her desk only to turn around upon his entering. He had expected her to smile at him and then ask him for help on whatever she was drawing at the moment.

But she wasn't.

She wasn't anywhere in the house.

Where is she?

Where is my muse?

Tearing apart the paintings and drawings that he had tried to complete without her, Cassius sat in the middle of his dark room with the crumpled pieces of art around him. To be without his muse for even a moment had already corrupted his very being to the point that anything not of her looked worthless in his opinion.

My muse...

Where are you?

Said girl in question was currently in Eun-ji's house, having snuck out without anyone's knowledge so they wouldn't be able to stop her. Unfortunately, like she had heard Cassius' thoughts, chills crawled up her spine that left her feeling uneasy.

"Everything okay?" Eun-ji asked as she walked into her room with two glasses of water.

"Yeah..." she exhaled softly as she took one of the drinks and eagerly gulped the liquid down, setting the glass back down and staring up at the girl with a small smile. "Thank you, anyways, for letting me stay here so last minute. Are you sure your parents are okay with it?"

"Of course," she shrugged as she sat down cross-legged on the floor beside her friend. "Totally."

(Y/N)'s brow raised.

Eun-ji raised her hands in defense with wide eyes that made both of them laugh—the first time in a while for either of them. To (Y/N), it was such a relief that she immediately hugged her friend tightly, whispering words of thanks that the other could only smile softly too whilst returning her hug. It wasn't long before the two then turned in for the night, (Y/N) finally able to close her eyes and feel at peace.

    Unfortunately, it didn't last.

Both her and Eun-ji were forcibly awakened by the harsh sounds of someone pounding on the front door, their yells muffled until they stumbled down the stairs. Eun-ji's parents, however, were luckily already gone for work by then.

But it was of little comfort.

"(Y/N)!" Someone screamed from the other side as the pounding grew more incessant. "Get out here right now!"

"Is that... Jay?" Eun-ji blinked in shock.

Slowly, (Y/N) crept forward so that she could peer through the little peephole that was installed in the door, placing a hand over her mouth when she indeed saw Jay standing there. He looked infuriated, yet he also looked completely unnerved, his amber eyes blazing while his white hair remained messy and his brown skin unusually sallow.

Like he hadn't slept at all.

Then her attention moved to the boy next to him, Kai standing there with his hands in his pockets and an intense expression resting on his face.

    The girl reeled backwards.

    So, they found me.

It wouldn't have been hard to guess, but this is far too quick for my liking.

"It's Jay and Kai," she murmured to Eun-ji, her brows wrinkling while her lips tugged further down into a frown, something the other noticed and was all too concerned about. "They know we're here since your car's in the driveway, but... I don't want to go with them."

"And you don't have to," Eun-ji shook her head.

"What are we going to do about them, though?" She questioned, glancing back at the door nervously that was still shaking from the collision of Jay's fists. "They aren't just going to leave."

"They'll leave if I make them think that you're not here," Eun-ji exclaimed. "Go upstairs, pack up all of your stuff, and hide in my parents' walk-in closet. At the very back, there's a little door that leads to a crawl space. Don't go anywhere, but just hide there since they might force their way inside. And if they look around and see you're not here, then they'll leave and look for you elsewhere."

"Thank you, Eun-ji!" (Y/N) whispered as she hugged the girl once more before running off to do just that.

    Eun-ji waited five minutes.

    Then she opened the door.

"Why the fuck did it take you so long to open a damn door?" Jay growled down at her in agitation, his eyes twitching and his fingers curled into fists that tightened his muscles.

"And good morning to you too," Eun-ji rolled her eyes, leaning against the door frame.

    "Where is she?"

    "Who?

"Tell us where (Y/N) is," Kai interjected calmly as he held the door tightly in his hand, his impassive expression thoroughly disturbing the girl. "Is she hiding in your house right now? Tell her to come out and she might not be punished."

"Excuse me?" She blanched, knowing that her suspicions about the brothers were true.

Kai, not seeming to care to converse with her for another second, forced the door open and stepped past Eun-ji who started yelling at both him and Jay to get out. Her words, unfortunately, fell on deaf ears as they began searching for the girl that they were desperately needing at the moment. After Cassius had discovered her missing, they searched throughout the night in every possible place to where she might've gone.

And then only one was left.

Jay and Kai practically tore Eun-ji's house apart, yet no trace of (Y/N) was found.

The stood in the middle of her room, staring blankly at the floor where (Y/N) had slept for the night although they had no knowledge of it. Eun-ji stood in the doorway, her arms crossed over her chest and her dark eyes narrowed in a dangerous scowl.

"You need to leave," she demanded.

Kai brusquely brushed past her without another word, his pupils almost shaking in rage.

    Jay hesitated.

Then, he turned to Eun-ji and murmured, "Even if you aren't hiding her, you know something. Despite you withholding any information, I'm going to find her whether you like it or not. She's mine."

    And with that, he left.

Eun-ji slumped to the floor, exhausted.
