"Okay this" chohee shows me a pair of black leggings and a white tube top. After telling her I'm going out with jungkook she made it her mission to help me pick out an outfit.
"Girl we are going to an abandoned house. I can't wear a tube top. Plus leggings make my legs feel weird" I say
"But they make your ass look great" she replies
"Just show me the next one"
After almost 30 minute of her showing me her clothes, i settled for some cargo pants and a simple t shirt.
I was sitting in the passenger seat of Jungkook's Mercedes Benz when the late afternoon sun illuminated the countryside in shades of amber and gold. We had been on twisting country roads for almost an hour, heading further and deeper into a world where time had not yet caught up with us. He sat next to her and hummed along with the radio, occasionally glancing mischievously at me.
With anticipation glimmering in his eyes, he inquired, "You excited?"
I couldn't help but smile as I nodded. Yes, without a doubt. This place has received so much praise.
As they maneuvered over an especially uneven section of road, he laughed while keeping his hands firmly on the steering wheel. "All right, get set. You don't get to investigate a true haunted house every day."
I chuckled uneasily, my heart pounding with a mixture of anxiety and excitement. "Do you really think it's haunted?"
He shrugged and looked momentarily at her before looking back down the road. "Who can say? Isn't that a part of the enjoyment?"
The scenery appeared to shift as we got closer to our objective, growing more untamed and unkempt. The road became more narrow as the woods surrounded us, resembling sentinels defending a long-forgotten secret. At last, we arrived at a clearing where the deserted manor stood, its outline strikingly visible against the diminishing light.
The mansion was a large, imposing building with walls covered with ivy that seemed to have a life of its own and towers that soared for the sky. Some windows were boarded up, as if to keep the outside world at bay, while others were shattered and stared blankly out at the world. The weight of past years hung thick in the air surrounding the manor.
After pulling into the overgrown driveway, we stopped the Benz there and sat quietly for a while, taking in the scene. The wind moved softly among the trees, creating a rustling sound that resembled ancient secrets being whispered.
"ready?" He asked
"yeah"
The leaves, which had previously been vivid, now resembled battered confetti on the pavement as a whisper of cold crept through the trees. Jungkook and I were standing at the end of a deserted street, gazing up at the run-down house that towered over us.
I inhaled deeply as I followed Him through the rusted gate, the sound of its creak resonating through the silence. Every step on the overgrown vines and weed-choked walk leading to the house was a mini-adventure in and of itself. As we got closer, the home appeared to be staring at us with soulless eyes.
When jungkook shoved the front door aside, it swung open with a grudging sigh, hanging perilously on its hinges.
The smell of age and neglect permeated the musty air inside. The floorboards creaked under their weight, and dust motes danced in the glare of her flashlight. The main room was a maze of shadows, with the ruins of antique furniture cast like ghostly figures against white linens.
Together, we entered, the air heavy with the smell of rotting. The light from my flashlight pierced the shadows and filled the foyer. The previously magnificent room was reduced to a jumble of broken glass, splintered plaster, and what must have been a massive chandelier's parts.
