Even after two weeks had passed since that evening at the abandoned house, I was still consumed by thoughts of it and Jungkook. I still remember the excitement of their journey, but what really stuck with me was how we clicked that evening. There had been a change in their relationship amid the old house's dank, gloomy chambers.
I was now reading a book carelessly while seated in the school library's corner, where I always sat. My thoughts were elsewhere, reliving scenes from that evening, like how Jungkook had grinned at me and held my hand when they heard the sounds coming from the attic. I wasn't really reading. Even simply thinking about it made my heart race.
With a hand wave in front of my face, "Hey, Y/n, earth to y/n." Chohee says
Startled, I blink and look up. "What?" I apologize; "what did you say?
With a smile, Chohee settled onto the chair across from me. "You seem to be nodding off a lot lately. Thinking about a specific someone?"
My cheeks began to flush. "what? No, I was just-"
Come on, Chohee teasingly said. "You've had a dreamy gaze ever since the time you spent with Jungkook. spill. What happened."
I sigh, realizing that there was no use in trying to keep it a secret from her." Not really. We looked about the house, it was creepy we discovered some old items, but that was about it. Since then, we've only been texting."
"Texting a little?" Chohee raises an eyebrow. "Girl, you're texting Jeon Jungkook. the guy who doesnt date or text girls. That's a big deal!"
I laugh. "Yes, I guess. You know, I'm not sure where we stand at all. I don't want to press the issue because he hasn't spoken anything about that night."
She leans forward, her face serious. "Y/n, you need to quit thinking too much about this. He must still be interested in you if he is still speaking with you. Perhaps he's waiting for you to initiate contact.
I bit my lip. The thought of making a move made her stomach twist with nerves. What if I ruined everything? What if he didn't feel the same way?
My phone buzzes on the table, as if it were meant to. I noticed Jungkook's name on the screen when I looked down. A beat skipped in my heart.
Chohee's eyes grew wide. "who that is? is it him? what did he say?"
As I read the message, my heartbeat accelerated.
Princess. This weekend, wanna get together? Have a look at that new coffee shop to feed your caffeine addiction?
I glared at the words, finding it difficult to accept. Jungkook desired to spend time with me alone. Was there a date involved here?
chohee leaned over, trying to read the message. "Well? What did he say?"
I handed her the phone, unable to stop smiling. "He wants to hang out this weekend. Coffee shop."
Chohee grinned. "See? I told you! He's totally into you. You have to say yes."
I nod, already typing a response.
Sure, sounds great! What time?
With a pounding heart, I clicked send and waited. His response was received shortly after that.
saturday at 2? ill pick you up
okay
With a shout of delight, Chohee almost toppled over her chair. "this is undoubtedly a date! You must tell me everything once its done."
