With the room filled with a cozy glow from my bedside lamp, i relaxed on my bed. With my phone pressed up against my ear, i couldn't help but smile as i heard jungkooks voice on the other end of the line. For some reason, neither of us seemed ready to end the call even though it was late—much later than I was typically remained up.

"You're telling me that you haven't seen scream" His voice was lighthearted, half-disappointed, half-entertained

I laugh, turn over on my side, and give my pillow a tighter hug. "I am aware, I am aware! It's something I've wanted to watch for ages, but I've never gotten around to it.

"Y/n, that is a crime." Though his voice was full of tenderness, Jungkook taunted, "I don't even know if I can talk to you anymore."

"well i guess thats it" i teased "goodbye"

"no wait" he says "its fine. youll watch it with me"

"and who says i want to do that" i reply

"i do" he says

"yeah good luck with that" i say "you cant make me watch it with you"

"Yes, I will force you to watch it. Make no excuses. We are going to have a marathon of movies. Popcorn, everything."

"fine" i say "but youre getting everything"

"will do"

A little period ensued, during which the quiet buzz of the approaching night filled the pleasant silence between us. Even though we were only talking, my heart began to beat a little more quickly. Everything felt a little more genuine and intimate—perhaps because I could hear his voice and it was a phone call in the privacy of my bedroom.

After a little pause, he said, his tone becoming more subdued and reflective. "I've been thinking about yesterday."

my breath hitched. I knew what he was saying - about the kiss. Like a beloved tune, it had been circling around in my head as well. "Yeah?" I inquired gently, running my fingers over the edge of my blanket.

"Yeah," Jungkook said, his voice lower now, more serious. "I can't stop thinking about it. About you."

my heart skipped a beat, and i bit my lip, trying to keep my voice steady. "Me too."

i heard him let out a small sigh, the kind that made me imagine he was running a hand through his hair, just like he did when he was bored. "Last night... it just felt right."

There was a pause, and then i chuckled softly, the sound sending a shiver of happiness through me. "I'm glad you think so. I was overthinking it all night, wondering if you felt the same."

he laughed gently. "You? Overthinking? I don't believe it."

"Hey, I'm not always the confident girl you think I am," i said with a smile in my voice.

For a moment, we were both silent again, but this time it was the kind of silence that felt full—of possibility, of excitement, of something new just beginning. i could hear the faint sound of his breathing on the other end, steady and reassuring.

"So, what are you doing tomorrow?" he asked after a while, his tone casual but with a hint of hopefulness.

I felt my heart leap. "Not much, why?"

"Well, I was thinking... maybe we could hang out again? I mean, if you're free."

my smile grew, and i felt a surge of excitement. "I'd love that."

"Great," he said, and i could hear the smile in his voice. "I'll text you the details tomorrow?"

"Yeah, sounds perfect."

we lingered on the phone for a few more minutes, neither of us quite ready to say goodbye. Eventually, he spoke again, his voice soft. "Alright, I should let you get some sleep. It's getting late."

"Yeah, I guess," i said, though part of me wanted to stay on the phone with him forever. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight, princess," he replied, his voice warm and full of something that made my heart flutter. "Talk to you tomorrow."

As I hung up, I laid back on my bed, staring at the ceiling with a smile i couldn't wipe off my face. The night felt like magic, and I knew that things with jungkook were just beginning.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My phone was still tightly gripped in my hand when I woke up, and the memories of my talk with Jungkook from the previous night came back to me right away. Feeling a little giddy after our conversation, I stretched and grinned to myself. Even though the late-night phone call had been so basic, between theusm, it felt like everything had shifted.
I rolled over and looked at her phone, almost expecting him to text her. As expected, I found a text message waiting for me:
jungkook: Hello, I hope you had a restful night's sleep. still good for today?
With a small flip of my heart, I swiftly typed back.
Good morning! Unquestionably still going. When is it?
He responded almost instantly.
What about two? I suggested that we take a drive and perhaps have lunch.
I could not resist grinning. I was thrilled that he wanted to spend time with my and that we didn't need to plan anything elaborate; we could just be together. Everything seemed to be coming into place, and it felt right.
sounds good. I'll see you then!
