Tan's pov:

I sat back in my chair as I looked around the room we were in.

It was an empty classroom in my faculty.

The dean asked Phum, who was sitting to my right, and I to come here.

We already know what it's for so we weren't surprised.

We looked toward the door when it opened.

The dean came in with two men who were wearing police IDs around their necks.

Detectives.

We straightened up in our seats and glanced at each other with confused expressions before looking at them.

"Why did you call us here?" Phum asked.

"Are we in trouble?" I asked, anxiously.

"You're not in trouble. They just want to ask you some questions, that's it." The dean assured.

We slowly nodded.

Of course they do.

"My name is Keith. And this is my partner Ron. We wanted to ask you some questions regarding an assault case centered around Jack." One of the detectives spoke.

I frowned and tilted my head before looking at Phum who seemed to be thinking as well.

"Who's Jack?"

He looked at me and shrugged.

"A new transfer student in the faculty of Architecture. Second year. Same class as your friend, Kluen, and boyfriend, Khaofang." Ron showed us a picture of Jack on his phone.

"Oh him! Kluen brought him to visit Fang when he was in the hospital, right?" I looked at Phum.

"Oh. Yeah, you're right. He did." He nodded.

"Wait, he got assaulted? When?" I looked at the detectives with a confused expression.

"Three nights ago. When you brought your boyfriend to the hospital." Ron answered.

Phum and glanced at each other with surprised expressions on our faces.

"Is he ok?" We looked back at them.

"He's currently admitted in the hospital. He had quite a few injuries so he won't be leaving there anytime soon." Keith sighed.

"Damn, sounds bad." I winced.

"Yes. So can you tell us what happened when he went to visit him?" He asked.

"I was really focused on Fang so I don't remember much." I tilted my head.

"We told him and Kluen to leave. Because Fang doesn't like it when people who aren't close to him see him in such vulnerable states. I think we were pretty snappy too." Phum muttered.

Snappy is an understatement.

We wanted to murder him on the spot.

"Right." I nodded.

"Jack said you seemed quite hostile toward him. Is there a specific reason why?" Ron.

Oh, he's already awake?

Damn, I guess I went too easy on that last blow.

"We were really worried about Fang since he usually never gets sick. And we never saw him scrub himself raw like that either. So our fuses were pretty short. And someone we didn't know coming in made us more protective I guess." Phum glances at me.

I nodded in agreement. "Probably, yeah."

"Do you know how Khaofang ended up like that?" Keith asked.
