𝙒𝙃𝙀𝙉 𝙉𝙀𝙕𝙐𝙆𝙊 𝙒𝙊𝙆𝙀 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙉𝙀𝙓𝙏 𝙈𝙊𝙍𝙉𝙄𝙉𝙂, her entire body ached. The pit of unease in her stomach had only hardened, and she hurriedly left before the sun had fully risen, thanking old man Saburo profusely for his trouble. Walking up the mountain was easier than walking down – Nezuko had always had strong legs, and this time her basket was empty.

This time, Nezuko didn't wait for Yuuki to catch up- her stomach hurt so bad, and for some strange reason, she had a strong feeling she wouldn't see her family again. She had a gut wrenching feeling that yesterday was the last time she would ever see her family.

and it hurt a lot

She didn't care that it was still mostly dark outside so, it was inevitable that she would slip, there was a chance she could be attacked by a wild animal, but she didn't care. She needed to prove her gut wrong

There wasn't much of the path left when she managed to regain her scenes, and she realised, she had left Poor Yuuki in the dust. She peered down the mountain to she the familiar blond haired girl slowly trekking up the mountain , not too far from where she was.

Although the black-haired girl had calmed herself, she sill had a strange urgency to just run, run as fast as she could up the mountain. She waved apologetically to the blond haired girl, signalling that she would be back and just had to check something.

As she approaches her home, Nezuko wonders why it's so quiet. Her family were all early risers and are usually up and playing at this time of day. Not to mention...where is her brother? His sense of smell had always been astonishingly strong, always able to smell her coming from a mile away. Nezuko frowns, her hand on the strap of the basket tightening. Something feels... odd.

Then she smells it.

Blood. The stench is so strong and disgustingly thick that she doesn't need Tanjirō's senses to smell it. Nezuko begins to tremble, her brother's words about blood ringing through her mind. Blood...blood?! Whose blood? There isn't anyone around here for miles. The only ones living here are-

Nezuko breaks into a run, stumbling and dropping her basket on the way. Please, no no no! Don't let it be my family. DON'T LET IT BE-

She holds back a scream when her eyes land on the front doorstep of her home. The claw marks against the wood, the broken down door, and...oh god, she's going to be sick. Blood...everywhere...coating the white snow...and on her youngerbrothers' unmoving limbs. Her vision blurs, unsteady and shaking, and she feels disconnected from her own body as she stumbles to reach her family. "Wh- Rokuta?! Why are you- " Nezuko freezes when she suddenly feels the thick, cold blood coating the hand that reaches out. Her family's blood. Shaking, she grabs her younger brother's shoulder and shakes it. "Wake up! Wake up, please! Don't-"
