In the grand castle of Pharane, the news of Charlize's presumed demise had spread. The kingdom was in a state of mourning for their lost princess.

When King Orion and Queen Liana returned to Pharane after their personal talks with another kingdom, the first news that greeted them was their daughter's presumed death.

King Orion, Charlize's father, had retreated to his personal study and hadn't come out since receiving the news. Queen Liana, too, secluded herself, her heartbreak too profound to bear.

Meanwhile, Charlize's older brother, Crown Prince Baelum, was in a very different mood. His demeanor one of jubilation rather than mourning.

.

The kingdom was in a state of utter silence and mourning. Charlize's loss had left a heavy gloom over the great Kingdom of Pharane. What was once a bustling and joyful kingdom was now a dull, joyless place.

The citizens were stunned, the loss of their princess so sudden and unexpected. No one could believe that the one who had brought so much light into their lives was now gone.

Baelum, meanwhile, remained smug and pleased. In his twisted mind, he decided to ensure that no one else knew the truth behind his sister's death. He methodically silenced all witnesses, his ruthless actions leaving no one to question his act of innocence.

To the public, he appeared devastated, his tears and expressions of grief mirroring perfectly the mourning of the kingdom. He played the part of the grieving brother so well that no one spared a second glance in his direction.

But behind the locked doors of his quarters, his true colors showed. He was free now. Free from his younger sister's looming presence and her shadow. He celebrated behind the fake tears, glad to be free of his sister and one step closer to inheriting the throne.

With Charlize's death, grief hung over the kingdom like a lead weight. A grand mourning was held, a ceremony fit for a princess.

The streets were adorned with hundreds of glowing lanterns, each one burning with a soft, flickering light to show their princess the way to heaven.
