Chocolate Pancakes

THE SMELL OF chocolate and pancake batter hits my nose.

By the time I put myself together after my very fun morning panic attack, yes I am being sarcastic, I rushed to get ready so I could go downstairs to stuff my face with food.

I packed my bag, got dressed in a pair of high waisted baggy jeans and a white lace tank top, showing off a bit more skin then I am normally comfortable with, but today is a big day.

I am already stepping way out of my comfort zone, so why not step a bit further.

Making my way down the double staircase, the velvet runner silences my footsteps. I round the corner into our kitchen and take in the huge plate of pancakes and the colorful bowls of fruit that fill the marble countertops.

Icey really went all out.

Noticing my presence, Bryce turns around with another pancake in his hand and adds it to the huge stack.

"Holy pancakes Icey." I smile at him.

He walks my way and pulls me into his arms, giving me one of his bear hugs. I return the embrace before pulling away.

"They smell delicious." I inhale.

"Only the best of the best for you Sloth." He flashes me a bright smile.

"Did you make some for Ellie?" I ask.

"Of course I did sweetheart."

Ellie is our housemaid. She helped look after me when I was a child and is basically like a mother to me, since I never knew mine. She passed away when I was born so I never had the chance to grow up with a mother, but Ellie has never made me feel that way. She's been there for every scrape on my knee, every birthday, and every day where I felt like it was not worth getting out of bed. I never think of her as a maid, because she's never been like that to me.

"Always thinking about me cara."

I turn at the sound of her voice.

Ellieanna is in her early 40's but doesn't look a day over 35 in my opinion. She's gorgeous for her age.
