Later that evening, at the Splat stadium, we see several inklings, including the SMG4 crew, Meggy's family, Pio, and even Rico, all there to watch the tournament happen. As everyone got seated, the squid sisters were in the announcers booth, ready to get started.

Marie: Ready, Callie!
Callie: Okay. Here we go. (Turns on the microphone) LADIES AND GENTLESQUIDS!!! WELCOME TO THE MARIO VS. KILLER INK TOURNAMENT!!! IN ONE CORNER, THE HERO OF THE MUSHROOM KINGDOM, THE CRIMSON STAR HIMSELF... SUPER MARIO!!!
Mario: WAHOO!!!
Marie: AND HIS OPPONENTS, THE 2ND PLACE CHAMPIONS OF THE 2020 SPLATFEST, KILLER INK!!!
Killer Ink: (Around 40 or so members of the team, along with the original 4, all come out)
Mario: 😡
Iris: 😡
Mario: You're going down, bitch. (Walks back as well)
Iris: Bring it on! (Walks back to where she was)
Callie: Okay, the rules are simple. 1. Mario will have 44 lives since there are 44 killer ink members. 2. If the number of lives/members goes to zero, the opposite side wins. Finally, 3. If one side has the lowest number before zero and if time ends, the higher side will win. Understand?
Mario and Iris: Got it.
Callie: Great! Ready... and... BEGIN!!!
Killer Ink members #5, #6, and #7: (Shoot at him)
Mario: (Dodges and shoots the 3 down)
5 6 and 7: Agh!!!
Iris: GRRRRRRRRRRRR GET HIM!!!
Callie: 41 left!
Mario: (Runs)
A group of 5 chased him down.
Mario: (Hides behind a wall)
Killer Ink member #8: Surround him.
Others: Got it!
They surround the area and shoot at Mario, but he dodges, and the left and right shoot at each other instead.
Mario: (Shoots the up member)
Killer Ink members #8, #9, and #10: AGH!!!
Marie: That's 38 to go!
Iris: (Shoots at Mario with members #11 and 23)
Mario: (Rolls past them and then throws a splat bomb at 3 members. #24, 14, and 17)
24, 14, and 17: AAAH!!! (Gets knocked out)
Iris: (In a headset) MISSILE SQUAD, FIRE!!!
32, 33, 34, 35, and 36: (Shoot splat missiles at Mario)
Mario: (Dodges and shoots 32 and 33)
32 and 33: DAMNIT!!!
Mario: (Runs)
34: (Shoots a missile at him)
Mario: (Grabs and throws it at them) RETURN TO SENDER!!!
Missile squad: OH SHIT!!! (Gets knocked down)
Iris: GRR... Keep firing!!! Roller squad! Move in!
21, 31, and 41: (Move with giant roller brushes)
Mario: (Sees them) Hmmph! (Dodges more shots and gets an idea to separate the rollers) Hope this works! (Throws 5 splat bombs in the air, which go off and distracts the roller squad)
