Chapter 3| friend

'pictures of the old us got me feeling older. just thought you should know, I never wanted closure.'

I walked to my vanity and because of the ball tonight classes were canceled since all the girls needed all day to get ready because it started at five.

I looked at the big mirror in front of me with lights around it and then at the hand-held magic mirror beside it, i looked at it and saw my mother getting ready for tonight along with my father i then saw Ben also getting ready but being lazy about it since he didnt have to do anything.

I put the mirror down and smiled at my reflection and I started on my makeup.

I smiled at my makeup and then began on my hair seeing as it was now 2 in the afternoon and I had like two more hours till I needed to be ready and at the doors waiting to be announced by Lumiere.

I brushed through my brown hair and smiled me and ben both got my mother's hair but my brother got my dad's height and I got my mothers seeing as I was not as tall as him but I was happy not being so tall.

I smiled at the final result my fingers hurt from pulling at my hair for an hour.

I smiled and looked at my dress ready to tackle that next.

I took it out of the beg and brushed it off fixing some of the fabric but it looked amazing still.

I slid off my clothes in front of my standing mirror and slipped on the dress, it fit all the right places.

I put on my earrings and put on some more lip gloss and the bead necklace.

I took out the yellow heels that went with the dress and slid them on having some trouble but eventually got them on my alarm beeped on my alarm clock and I realized it was 4:30 in the afternoon and I was time to head down to the ballroom doors.

I walked to the doors careful not to trip on anything and I saw my family waiting for me and I smiled.

"Hey, am I late?" I asked and they all turned to me all of their eyes going wide seeing me.

"I didnt think you could ever get more beautiful since but here I am getting proven wrong." my brother joked and I punched his shoulder and rolled my eyes.

"Are you both ready?" Lumiere asked and he both nodded my mother and father went to the front door and opened it slightly to slide in and take their spots in front of the stairs waiting for us.

Trupents started to play and Ben got in front of me cause he was going to be announced first since he was the first one born.

"Prince Benjamin."Lumiere's voice could be heard throughout the room as the doors opened but not enough so everyone could see me they let him through then closed them again as I stepped forward.

The trumpets were blown again and I stood up straight rolling my shoulders back and playing with the red jade ring on my finger." Princess Alexia."Lumiere's voice went throughout the room again as my stomach twisted and they opened the doors revealing me and everyone gasped.

I walked down the stairs but before I could go all the way down my father took my hand and pulled me over to him and my mother." you look amazing sweety I hope you have an amazing night." he whispered so people couldn't hear our conversation they both hugged me and I had tears in my eyes.

I and Ben moved to stand in front of the stairs in front of everyone and they all bowed and I smiled.

Audrey and Chad both walked forward Chad took my arm in his and Ben took Audrey's arm in his as we walked to the ballroom floor.

The music started and the four of us danced first as rehearsed I smiled at Chad I don't think I've ever been this happy around and he smiled back at me.

People started to join us on the dance floor as the music for that dance stopped we all clapped for each other.

Another song came on and it was a little slower so me and chad finally got to talk which I wasnt exactly excited about.

"Lexi you look amazing," he said as we glided across the floor and I smiled up at him.

"So do you I can't believe im here doing this," I said and he nodded his head.

"Same but it would be better if this was an occasional thing" he started and I nodded my head and I knew he was about to ask the question." Lexi." he stopped us from dancing and I looked into his eyes as everyone dancing around us stopped to look at us."I love you and I have loved you forever and I want that love to last for eternity alexia beast..." he started pulling something out of his pocket and kneeling on one knee many people around us gasping." will you marry me and join our two kingdoms together," he asked and I smiled at him.

"Of course." I smiled and he smiled back at me sliding the ring on my finger and bringing me into a kiss as people throughout the room clapped and cheered for us.

We separated and smiled at each other and I felt happy but it wasn't the happy I normally felt it felt like I was only happy for making my kingdom proud.

I looked around and I saw my friends and family look at me with pride.

I had tears in my eyes. I've never loved Chad. I like him, yeah but I don't know what love feels like cause my whole life has been set out for me.

Next thing I knew I was getting pulled into Audrey's group of girls surrounding me and squealing as they looked at the ring and I smiled.

I turned to where the doors were and saw Lumiere. I gave him a tight-lipped smile and he nodded back smiling and I gave him a grateful smile. I was grateful for him and my family.
