My eyes were not happy as I just woke up to the early light peeking through the windows and finding its way through my eyelids. I'm feeling a bit groggy and still tired per usual. Judging from the sunrise I've not been asleep for long. Looking out, I see Four standing at the balcony out looking the beautiful sky. I decide to walk out to him wanting to ask what he is doing.
He turned around just as he heard the door opening behind him. He looked back meeting my gaze. Four then gave me a small smile before he turned his eyes back to the sunset.
"I thought you said you were going to go to bed?" I ask him.
"Well i said I were, but I really wanted to make sure you went to sleep. So you didn't have to worry about me being up and doing stuff" he say to me, he looked a me just for a second but for the rest he looked into the orange and yellow color scheme outside his balcony. It was beautiful. It made me think of my mother. She used to say that every soul who has left this planet becomes one with the sky so they can watch over us at all times. Like guardians.
"You know there is something I've been wanting to tell you but I'm worried about what you are going to do....or- uhhh...say"
"Dose that thing have anything to do with your test results?" He replied quick. Like he knew what I was doing to say next. Like he can just read my mind.
"I-Uhhh. Yes, yes it does.." I studded up. I want to be able to tell him all about it, but I'm not sure if I can.
"So what were your results?" He interrupted my thought. The question cut right through me.
I take a few seconds to think over what I'm about so say next. After that moment u just say it. If the leaders kill me after this I will come back and haunt his ass.
"I think you know what they were" I can't say the direct words out loud. I just can't.
"Inconclusive? Right...." he says right away. He knows.
Thank god. I just felt a heavy weight fall of my shoulders. I let out a sigh of relief. But there is still a slight chance it will tell the rest and I can't have him do that. I just don't wanna die. I know that they will kill me that day they find out, I mean Tori's brother. It doesn't matter how good I am.
The silence in between us speaks for itself self. His eyes glare at mine. I can't read them. Is he worried, angry, relieved, happy, sad. I don't know.
"Please don't tell anyone. I don't want die. They're going to kill me Four" I say, feeling my eyes fill up with tears. The panic is now ripping right through my body making me feel sick. My breath is getting worse and worse. Faster and faster. So is my heartbeat, less and less time in between the pumps.
He looked at me with a reassuring look. Now I just hope he won't tell a soul.
"I'm not gonna let anyone do that to you" he responded, not taking his eyes of mine. "There is something I want to tell you too Agnes" Four says to me. His eyes moving from my right eye to my left. Back and forth.
Im trying my best to hide the fact that the tension between us is killing me. But I'm really curious about what he's about to say. Maybe it isn't something important. No. It has to be. I hope he's just going to tell me it's all going to be fine and that I have nothing to worry about. Please. I beg.
He doesn't say anything. It makes me more concerned for every second that goes by. Just tell me already. Why is he not talking. It's like he can't speak. It feels like he's about to tell me that he has like a third nipple or something. I don't have a good feeling about this.
He lifts up his arms and then he pull off his shirt. He then takes another fucking moment without words to just look at me. Why is he so god damn quiet. I then get snapped back to reality, I see his bare chest and stomach in front of me. I instantly get butterflies in my stomach as my eyes wonder his skin.
"Are you just showing your abs off? Because you know I can have the same ones if I wanted to" I say to him, looking at his strong torso.
He giggles for a second and then he turns around. He reviled the big tattoo covering his big back. This is the first time I've seen it. Well, you can kind of see it from behind him, up his neck. I remember when he got it. It was about a year ago. I had asked him about it but I didn't get to see it. My mom asked him to, no answer there either. I've waited for this.
I let my hand wander through the engraved inc. He moves a bit as I do. He gives me a small look over his shoulder and just as quickly his eyes go back.
He opens his mouth, but not a sound makes it out. Like he wanted to say something and then the last second regretted it. Suddenly I hear his voice. The silence has been killing me for the past minute.
"I don't want to just be one thing. I can't be.....I want to be brave, and selfless, and intelligent, and kind" Four say to me. This is the first time I've seen him like this. Now he turns around facing me. His eyes glare into mine and I can feel his body moving towards mine.
"Well, I'm still working on kind" he whispers at me.
I giggle. My heart skipped a beat as he looked down at my lips. The truth in his face makes me feel like this is for real.
As we stood close, there the air between us seemed to crackle with anticipation.
Then, his hand slowly moved up my chest and into my cheek. Grabbing it gently and pulling my face into his. The first touch of his lip was soft and sensitive. His big hands holding onto my face were leading me. My heart is now pounding inside my chest, every beat echoing through my nervous excitement that I feel.
This was obviously something we both have thought about for a long time.
