As she gathered herself, Saṃhitā thought to move out composed and deal with it like a mature person. Face the reality.

But as she opened her cabin door to have some water to drink from the cooler, Saṃhitā saw a hoard of media pointing at her.

She couldn't understand how did the media know about the incident so soon. Then she suddenly remembered that the dead patient had good political connections.

The reporters shrunken her with questions like '...how can you do this to a young wife and his daughter?...'; '...did you really get your medical certificate...or did you buy it?...' and so on.

She shaked her head to deny their accusations and looked over to see her doctor colleagues only being helpless at her dismay. She tried to ask for help from them but they turned their back on her. Saṃhitā was slowly backing away from the reporters who were trying to humiliate the doctor.

As she squatted down, closing her ears to not listen to their questions and humiliation; a gentle hand carried her bridal style in his strong arms and rushed to the car.

Saṃhitā could only hide herself in his neck but recognised him with his musky minty scent. Her Daksh.

As Daksh placed her softly in the car backseat, he ordered the driver to take them home.

As he saw the way the reporters were still chasing them, he closed the window with the curtains and pulled his attention to the crying Saṃhitā.

He cupped her face speaking "...I am here, love...your Daksh is here..." and hugged her to finally calm his Saṃhitā.

For days, Daksh made it a point to not let anyone apart from his family to meet his wife. Even the maids and servants were strictly told to not whisper about the incident with the warning of losing their job if they did.

Saṃhitā would opt to only hide herself in her room, even when Daksh told her to at least visit her home.

To which she replied that her home was him and curled up to his chest to calm herself with his soft heartbeat.
