(Story Written By Jack: Truck Of Tar)

One morning, Tipper was awoken with a start!

"Wake up Tipper!"

Laurel cheered.

"The Fat Controller's asked if you can help at the harbour! Isn't that exciting!?"

Tipper was pleased with the chance to leave the lumber mill for a change.

"Hurruh!"

Tipper cried!

"That will be lovely! I long for an adventure of my own!"

So, the loggers readied their traction engine, and set out for the harbour.

Tipper smiled as he took in the salty sea air of the harbour. Everything and everyone was busy, caring crates and boxes all across the concrete maze! To his delight, Tipper found Douglas waiting with his next train.

"Oh, well, hello Douglas!"

Tipper smiled as he drew alongside.

"Fancy seeing you on this fine morning!"

"Aye, saeme gooes te yoou too!"

Douglas smiled.

"Yer lookin just fine!"

Before Tipper could reply, the harbour master strolled over.

"One of our cranes is out of action."

She explained.

"We'll need you to unload some of smaller boats."

"Just the sort of work I like."

Smiled Tipper.

"Although..."

He trailed off. Douglas looked confused.

"Aye, whas the matter lad? Why so doowncast all of a sudden?"

"Well, it's not much of an adventure."

Tipper confessed.

"I was hoping for something a little more exciting."

"Chin up."

Douglas' driver comforted.

"I'm sure you'll have a lovely day!"

"Besides."

Fawn added with a smile.

"You never know! Adventure could be laying around every corner."

Tipper smiled. But truthfully, he didn't fully buy it.

"Oh, I sure hope so."

He thought to himself.

Meanwhile, out at sea, there was trouble. A small fishing boat steered dangerously off course.

"If we don't find the harbour soon, we'll be in deep water."

The captain said. Mopping her brow.

"Who knows where it is! And goodness knows how these waves will affair."

All of a sudden, there was an earsplitting crack! The boat lurched to the side!

"Oooh!"

The captain yelped!

"Send out a may-day!"

Tipper was helping to unload crates from one of Ned's trains, when, in the distance, he noticed the ship.

"That ship looks awfully lopsided."

Joked Acacia. Tipper didn't reply, he was too busy studying it.

"I think that ship is sinking!"

He cried! Moments later, is when the alarm rang out!

"All those people's lives are in danger!"

Shouted the harbour master!

"Send out all the tugboats immediately!"

But the tugboats were busy elsewhere. All hope seemed lost.. Then, Tipper had an idea.

"What if I use my crane arm to pull them to safety?"

He asked.

"My ropes are very strong!"

"It's the best we've got!"

Replied the harbour master. Tipper's crew readied the rope, and soon, flung it out to the tramp steamer! Luckily, the ship's crew noticed what was happening, they tied the rope to the side of the ship! Then, once everything was ready, Tipper pulled hard! It was a tricky job, and Tipper felt himself getting hotter and hotter, but he carried on! At last, with one last great effort, the ship was pulled back to safety!

"Phew!"

The captain huffed.

"That was a close call! Thank you kindly!"

Tipper could only beam with pride. He had no steam left to reply.

Soon, the day was done. As Tipper was having a drink before heading for home, Douglas arrived with his return train. He smiled warmly at the traction engine.

"Haed any wee adventures lad?"

Douglas smiled. Tipper only chuckled.

"You'd never believe it.."

And Tipper trundled back home.
