You stood there, lost for words. Hanni's warning echoing in your mind,
'If his girl catches wind of this, she'll come after you.'
Her words haunting you.
A mix of nerves and irritation swirled within you; just because I 'talked' to him?!
The moment she took a drag of her cigarette and purposely blew the smoke in your face, causing you to cough and instinctively step back, you knew trouble was brewing.
"First of all, I only wanted to thank him for helping me in a dangerous situation. Second of all, as for the smoke, it really says a lot about your manners and maturity." You retorted, a hint of sass in your tone, maintaining a calm demeanour.
She let out an exasperated huff, her eyes rolling in annoyance.
"I don't need your thanks, and I certainly don't need you talking with my boyfriend. He's mine, and I don't appreciate you being near him, understand? Take this as a warning."
Her cold response pierced the air as she scanned you in bothersome before striding off, whispering negative remarks with her friends.
The disbelief of the encounter lingered within you. It wasn't your fault for the accidental bump with Sunghoon.
With a resigned sigh, you turned away, leaving the tense atmosphere behind.

As you were waiting for the bus, you noticed a stray kitten being yelled at by a drunk man.
His behaviour irked you, prompting you to rise from your seat and approach them.
"Sir, what's wrong with you?" You grumbled, crunching down to pick up the kitten, allowing it to nuzzle your arms.
The drunk man, with slightly red and half closed eyes, eyed you down. "Who do you think you are to interrupt my scolding? The cat peed on me on purpose so it deserves a beating!" He sneered, narrowing his eyes at you.
"Animals don't act intentionally like humans. The kitten likely peed out of fear or distress being handled by a clearly intoxicated stranger." You hissed angrily, turning to the frightened cat, petting it as you stood up.
"I don't care what you think, that cat was targeting me! I'm going to make sure it pays for what it did." He retorted.
You noticed the empty soju glass in his hand as raised it up.
Your eyes widened, anticipating his next move, but before he could act, someone pushed him away.
"Hey, back off! You're not harming her or that cat." The intervening figure declared, glaring at the man, who appeared annoyed and slightly fearful.
You were taken aback by the unexpected support extended towards you.
It's Jake.

"Did he hurt you?" He inquired, lowering himself onto the chair and offering you a mogu mogu.
