Your heart sank as you watched him carelessly toss the box on the floor, the sound of shattering cookies echoing.
Tears welled up in your eyes as you stared down at the broken treats.
"Sunghoon, that was harsh." Jake's voice murmured, breaking the tense silence.
All eyes turned to you, intensifying the already painful moment.
"I'm sorry," You managed to mumble before storming to the bathroom, seeking comfort.
Locking yourself in a stall, the weight of the situation hit you, and tears streamed down your cheeks.
"What a prick." You whispered under your breath, wiping away your tears with the back of your hand.
The bell signalling the start of the class rang, but the thought of facing the embarrassment kept you rooted in the stall.
After a moment, a gentle knock on the door startled you.
"Who is it?" You asked, your voice betraying the emotions you tried to hold back.
"It's me, Jay. Can you please open the stall?" Jay's voice, filled with concern, reached you through the door.
With hesitation, you unlocked the door, half expecting more judgement.
"I won't mock you, Y/N, I promise." Jay reassured you, his eyes reflecting genuine regret.
As you met his gaze, the anger in your eyes softened at the sight of his guilt.
"I'm sorry for what happened earlier," Jay apologised, his tone sincere but tinged with his own awkwardness.
"I don't understand why he did that... I thought he liked me." You admitted, the embarrassment still raw
"He was just toying with you." Jay explained, his voice heavy with disappointment, his hand running through his hair in frustration.
"What brings you here anyway? It's not like we're friends.." You assert, fixing your gaze on him.
"I just felt a pang of guilt," He replies, nonchalantly shrugging his shoulders. "Want to give this friendship thing a shot?" He proposes, causing you to pause, worrying of repeating past experiences with Jake and Sunghoon.
Sensing your uncertainty, he exhales softly, "I'm not like them, I assure you." He insists, his sincerity evident.
"Alright then, let's give this friendship a try." You reply, a smile gracing your lips, mirrored by his own.

You bunked off school for two days, Thursday and Friday. You couldn't handle the humiliation, and didn't want to face Sunghoon at all.
You were determined to avoid him at all costs.
It was Saturday, and you found yourself in your room, scrolling through your instagram until you received a message from Jay.
