Allison Ross POV
She slammed the door behind her, with finality.
Just like that she was gone.
Gone.
My brain snapped back to its senses. I forgot all about pretending to be asleep, I sprinted down the halllway and stumbled down the stairs, I wasn't usually this clumsy.
My mind racing, confused with too many thoughts but only one stuck out to me-How could he.
I finally reached the bottom of the staircase to see my father, his eyes full of regret and guilt. Then it hit me right at the heart. Betrayal.
I stopped for a millisecond holding back the tears that were threatening to take over. I looked him in the eye and I could tell he wanted to apologise but I shook my head. I wasnt the one he needed to apologise to the most.
I ran and ran. I let free the tears I had held back and let the sobs rack through my body.
My legs led me to one place I could call home.
I ran.
I thought my knees would buckle under me when I finally reached something resembling home in my life.
I sprinted through the field, the dead, wispy grass grazing my bare legs, the wild mane of fire I called my hair flying behind me, the tears streaking down my face haphazardly, my sweater jacket was open and flying with the wind as I jumped over small logs and twigs that were persistent in bringing me down.
I climbed the ladder up to the treehouse, taking the steps three at a time, I reached the top and quickly rembered to jump over the loose second floorboard.
I scrambled into the sleeping bag I always left here and cried my heart out, never making a sound.
But the soundless tears didnt last for long.
Jacob Navroski POV
The night was silent, peaceful. The hues of blues and green fused, weaving themselves together as one creating an enticing blanket of harmony on the absent regular night sky. The stars dazzling against the rare scene, and blinking in sync as if to create an angelic melody, lulling the restless to sleep.
It seemed all the night creatures had come to witness the rare, alluring and bewitching magic spread out in front of our very eyes.
