me and missy were talking and laughing at stupid things and we could hear mary and george walking up and down the hallway and sheldon talking. sheldon came in wearing a suit. "wowwwwww." missy said. "sheldon you guys kind of match." i said. they looked at each other. "aw come on." they both said and i just laughed at them. "so sheldon, missy, you guys wanna go see what mary and george are doing?" "no. never go into your parents room if the door is closed. we learned the hard way." missy said and sheldon just shook his head in disgust. it took me a second to realize but when i did i gagged. "oh ew." i said while giggling. an hour went by and we were all talking the whole time. there was a knock at the door and it opened. it was george. "hey yall. mary is going to go see if con is is awake and then when she and georgie and them are ready we're going to go get breakfast. so put y'all's shoes on and stuff." he smiled and then left. sheldon already had his shoes on. he looked over at our shoes and went over to them and picked them up. he handed our shoes to us. "thank you sheldon." i said. "yeah thanks bro." "no problem." we put in our shoes and tied them and walked around in them some to get the feel of them. "god i love converse." missy said and me and sheldon agreed. we heard the front door open and then georgie came in the room. he was wearing a blue suit with a yellow tie and yellow converse. "oh my god. we're all wearing converse!" sheldon laughed. "they comfy." georgie shrugged and then continued, "you guys look nice. where yall going?" he laughed. "meemaw should be here in like 5 minutes so we'll be leaving soon." he walked out and we decided to go sit in the living room while we wait. mary came out in a beautiful pink dress and heels and i smiled. "mary i love your outfit! it's so pink!" "thanks baby." she smiled and gave me a hug. meemaw walked in with dale and then george came out. "we all ready to go?" mary said. we all looked at each other and smiled. we all got up and went to the car. "what's for breakfast mom?" georgie asked. "me and your father were thinking mcdonalds. it's fast and easy and then we can have some time together. it's 8:00 right now and we have to be there at 9:30." we went to mcdonald's and started ordering. i got nervous and felt like i was going to waste money if i ordered something. "y/n what do you want baby." "uh nothing im okay thank you." i said nervously. "george honey can you get everyone else to order im going to go talk to y/n." "okay dear." "y/n come here sweet thing." i followed mary outside and looked at my feet. "baby look at me." i looked at her. i was in trouble for sure. "im sorry if i made you mad please don't yell insults at me." mary's face went worried. "baby i know you're hungry. why don't you want to eat. you can be honest with me and i'm not mad love. i would never yell insults at you. why did you say you didn't want anything?" a tear went down my face and i responded. "ms. whitetaker said me eating food wastes her money and i don't need food because im an ugly pig." "baby you are not wasting money and you are not ugly at all. i can tell you've been starved. don't listen to ms. whitetaker she is an awful person. now, we're going to go eat and you're going to get what you want." i hugged her and she hugged me back. she out out her hand i took it and we walked back inside. "what do you want dear?" "the hotcakes." i nervously said to mary but she smiled at me and i felt a weight of my chest. mary ordered for us and we went to go sit down with the rest of the family. our food came and mary blessed the food. we ate and talked. it was 9:00 when we were done so we decided we had to go. the court house was 17 minutes away so we left. we pulled up to the court house and it was big. i looked up and started hyperventilating. "mom something's wrong with y/n." missy said. mary turned around and saw me hyperventilating. "um okay how about you all go look at the flowers over there in that field, but don't pick any, and i'm going to stay here with y/n. i'll com get you guys in 10 minutes since it's 9:20 right now." everyone got out and i was left in the car with mary. she got out the car and took me out into the parking lot. "baby breathe in and out." "i- can't- breathe." i said in between breaths. "you're having a panic attack. everything is going to be okay. just try to take deep breaths." she pulled me in to her lavender embrace and started rubbing circles on my back. my breathing started to slow down and once i was okay she pulled me back. "are you nervous?" she asked me. "yes ma'am. i'm scared. what if they believe ms. whitetaker over me? what if she gets me back? what if i never see you again?" mary explained to me that we have the evidence and she hired the best lawyer in texas. "ms. whitetaker is a bad person and we have all the evidence to prove it. now to prove that she starved you, you're going to have to loft up your dress to show the judge your ribs. i made sure you have shorts on under the dress okay? i'll be there for you the whole time. we all will." she hugged me once more and then nodded her head. "okay. you ready now?" i nodded my head and she wiped my tears and smiled. "alright. let's go get everyone." we git the family and we all took each others hands and looked up at the court house. we all took a deep breath and looked at each other. everyone looked at me and i nodded. we walked up the courthouse and opened the doors.
