Chapter 3

Saturday morning. The end of term holidays have started. My mind was fuzzy, the last remnants of a dream being chased away by the realisation that I was awake again. It was a nice dream, something about sitting next to a big oak tree in a meadow full of flowers but the details are fading fast even as I tried to recall them. With a mental sigh, I allowed my brain to focus and cautiously opened one eye. The bright spring sunlight cut the room in half and I saw dust-motes dancing in the wall of light. I pull the duvet up over my head to keep it out. It's not going to work, my brain is awake now and already worrying about the day ahead.

-------------------------------------------

"Mum, are you busy today?" I questioned while stirring the thick porridge that was on the table in front of me.

Calling from the living room, "No darling, did you want to do something?"

"Uhm yeah, I was going to get the train to town to get some new clothes for school. Please join me. I really don't want to go by myself." I silently begged.

"Alright, get ready after you finish your breakfast."

-------------------------------------------

The station was bustling and it seemed as though every passenger was rushing to his or her respective transit. Everything moved in organised chaos, a type of methodical rushing about. I loved being in a busy surrounding. You were never out of place. You were always on the same playing field as everyone else. Everyone was too busy doing their own thing to stop and judge you. I felt free.

Me and mum were sitting down on the old, rusty, metal bench situated on the far right of the platform. Neither of us were ones for small talk but she would ask me about school. I'd always lie and tell her it was all going well, but in fact it was disastrous. There was no point worrying her, she had it hard as it was. Bringing up a child as a single-parent took her toll on her, not financially but mentally.

As she was talking to me, something caught the corner of my eye. I turned around to be greeted with the sight of Jared James. That was weird. Where have his tattoos gone? And his eyebrow piercing? From spending most of my teenage life sitting next to him in classes, I have managed to pick them out. But they weren't there now. It looked like his body was wiped clean. His hair wasn't styled as it would normally be. It came down in front of his forehead, lightly brushing his eyebrows.

He looked so pure.

He looked so natural.

He didn't look like himself.

For the first time, I didn't feel the same attraction as I normally would have. I didn't think that tattoos and piercings would make such a difference to a person. Gradually, I realised that he and his mother were walking past us. I hung my head down in a heartbeat. I didn't want him to see me.

-------------------------------------------

Justin's point of view:

At long last. I've arrived. A weight was lifted off my shoulder. As the train doors opened, I could see my mum leaning against the wall of the platform, nervously tapping her feet. She glanced at her watch again, making me smile. She has been waiting for so long for this day. I ran towards her, a sudden adrenaline rush hit me. I could feel tears forming my eyes and as soon as she saw me, her smile radiated off of her!

"Son!" She swung her arms around my neck, struggling to reach.

"Mum! I've missed you so much!" Tears were streaming down my face by now.

"Here, let's get you home. How was the journey here?" She lovingly interrogated.

But my mind was somewhere else.

I noticed a girl sitting down, staring at the floor.

Her long hair, brown with a hint of red, cascaded down her shoulders up to her elbows. It was out of her face which meant I could see the beauty of it. Her eyes, a deep brown, which I could stare into all day long. Her face was pale, like she had seen a ghost, but she remained beautiful.

Simply said, I was attracted to her. I don't know how. I don't know why. But I was.

I probably was never going to see her again.

-------------------------------------------

Ariana's point of view:

While shopping, Mum received a call from her boss saying that there was an emergency and she was urgently needed. She works as a doctor in the local hospital, so it was nothing out of the ordinary. Neither was my loneliness. I was all by myself again, what a surprise(!) .

As I was walking home, I could hear two girls behind me. They were giggling. I don't know about what, but I grew paranoid. I heard the name Justin and I started walking faster and faster until I began sprinting home. The bags in which the newly bought items were in were hitting my legs but I didn't care. I needed to get home.

How did they know that I spoke to Justin? No one was supposed to know! That was my only release from the world. It was inevitable, I was going to lose Justin too.

I ran into my room, slumped onto my bed. And I started to cry. Where do I go from here?

Author's note:

Well you guessed it... Justin is Jared's twin brother! I tried hinting it out in the last chapter in his online username. JJ4M35 - JJAMES - JUSTIN JAMES! And the worst thing is, Justin is in love with Ariana but Ariana is in love with Jared... What's going to happen next?

VOTE/COMMENT - I would love to hear your feedback!

Hope you enjoyed it! ♥

Oh and for those people who are on the webpage, not on the app, there's a picture of Ariana on the right-hand side.
