The spotlight blazed down on the panel stage, a sea of faces eager for the next answer.
The stars of Percy Jackson, Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri, graced the stage at San Diego's comic con. They had captured moments in photos for the event and various companies, and were now in the spotlight alongside their co-stars Adam Copeland, Virginia Kull, and two producers, engaging in a lively Q&A session with the host in front of a massive audience.
While Walker was in the midst of responding to a question, his gaze kept drifting toward Leah. It was evident that something was troubling her, and he couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.
Recently, Walker and Leah had started dating, and Walker quickly discovered just how protective he felt toward her in his new role as boyfriend. He had an uncanny ability to sense when Leah was feeling down, unwell, or troubled, and he would always strive to help her feel better. Although he wanted to check on her and ask if she was okay, the moment felt complicated; they were surrounded by a crowd, and their relationship was still a secret to the world.
While rumors circulated, nothing had been officially confirmed to the fans. With that context, during the car ride to Comic Con, Walker and Leah had a conversation about avoiding PDA. However, their discussion mostly consisted of them talking over each other as they sought a mutual understanding. Aryan found their attempts to navigate the situation rather hilarious.
As Walker spoke, Leah was suddenly overwhelmed by a surge of dizziness. Her palms felt clammy, and swallowing became increasingly difficult. The bright lights above seemed to bear down on her, radiating warmth that added to her discomfort.
Leah didn't even realize that Walker had wrapped up his answer, prompting enthusiastic cheers from the audience. A rush of butterflies swarmed her stomach when she heard her name resonate through the speakers.
"Alright, this next question is for Leah. So, Leah, what was your favorite scene to film in season 1?" the panel host inquired, curiosity etched on his face.
Taking a deep breath, Leah felt the weight of everyone's eyes on her, amplifying her anxiety.
"Um, m-my favorite scene to film in sea-s-s-season one...," Leah stuttered, her words faltering.
Walker's brow furrowed in confusion, mirrored by the rest of the cast and crew, as well as the audience.
"Are you alright, Leah?" the host asked, concern mingling with confusion on his face.
"Yes, s-sir," Leah whispered softly.
After swallowing hard, she tried again, "M-my favorite scene to fil- to fil- t-to, to fil—"
"Can she have a moment?" Virginia interjected, sensing that things were spiraling.
The host nodded thoughtfully before shifting his attention to Aryan for the next question.
Walker glanced at Leah, his expression etched with concern. He couldn't help but notice how her hand trembled on the table, restless and unsteady. He could see her chest rising and falling rapidly, each breath more frantic than the last.
Being mindful of the crowd around them, Walker gently covered the microphone in front of him and leaned closer to her, his voice a soft whisper.
"Leah? What's wrong, my love?" he murmured.
