The morning of the Haldi ceremony dawned bright and sunny, setting the perfect mood for the joyous pre-wedding ritual. The garden was adorned with marigold garlands and colorful drapes, creating a vibrant backdrop for the celebration. Laughter and chatter filled the air as friends and family gathered, ready to smear the bride and groom with turmeric paste, a symbol of purification and blessing.

Kiara sat on a low stool, wearing a simple, traditional outfit. Her friends, including Maya, surrounded her, ready with bowls of turmeric paste. On the other side of the garden, Derek, dressed casually, was surrounded by his friends, who looked mischievous and excited.

“Ready, Derek?” Anni asked, grinning from ear to ear. “This is going to be messy.”

Derek laughed nervously. “I’m ready, but you guys better not go overboard.”

“Us? Overboard? Never!” Sexa replied, winking.

The ceremony began with the elders applying the first touches of Haldi to Kiara and Derek. Kiara’s mother gently smeared some turmeric on her cheeks, blessing her with a kiss. Derek’s mother did the same, her eyes glistening with happy tears.

But the real fun began when their friends took over. Maya dipped her fingers into the turmeric bowl and smeared a generous amount on Kiara’s nose. “There, now you look perfect!” she teased.

“Oh, you think that’s enough?” Anni called out from Derek’s side. He scooped up a handful of turmeric and smeared it all over Derek’s face, making sure to get some on his hair too. “Now you look like a real groom!”

Sexa, not to be outdone, grabbed another bowl and proceeded to rub turmeric on Derek’s arms and legs. “You need to be glowing from head to toe, my friend.”

Across the garden, Kiara’s friends were having a blast. Acid, ever the prankster, approached with a mischievous grin. “Kiara, this is going to make you shine!” he declared, smearing turmeric all over her neck and shoulders.

“Acid, you’re supposed to be on Derek’s side!” Kiara laughed, trying to dodge his hands.

“Just spreading the love!” Acid replied, laughing.

The atmosphere was filled with laughter as everyone joined in, making sure neither Kiara nor Derek were spared from the turmeric attack. At one point, Bevda managed to sneak up behind Derek and poured a whole bowl of turmeric paste over his head.

“Bevda!” Derek shouted, but he couldn’t help but laugh as the turmeric dripped down his face.

Meanwhile, Sexa and Mummy were busy ensuring Kiara was equally covered. They even added a bit of rose water to the turmeric for an extra glow. “You’re going to be the most radiant bride, Kiara,” Mummy said with a smile.

As the ceremony progressed, the friends decided it was time for some friendly competition. “Let’s see who can cover their side the most!” Maya challenged.

“Oh, you’re on!” Anni replied, grabbing more turmeric.

The two sides went at it with renewed vigor, smearing turmeric with playful abandon. By the end, both Kiara and Derek were completely covered in the golden paste, laughing and trying to wipe their eyes.

“Alright, truce!” Kiara called out, giggling.

“Yeah, truce!” Derek agreed, wiping turmeric off his nose.

With the main part of the ceremony over, everyone gathered for group photos, capturing the joyful and messy moments. The friends posed with Derek and Kiara, showing off their turmeric-covered hands and faces, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

As they moved to the garden hose to clean up, Derek pulled Kiara aside for a moment. “You look like a golden goddess,” he said, smiling.

“And you look like a yellow warrior,” Kiara replied, laughing.

They shared a tender kiss, turmeric and all, sealing the joyous occasion with their love.

The Haldi ceremony ended with a sumptuous brunch, where everyone relaxed and shared stories, eagerly anticipating the upcoming wedding. The day had been filled with laughter, love, and the kind of fun only true friends could bring, making it a perfect prelude to Derek and Kiara’s big day.
