Chapter 24: You're in love

"God knows hospital ka bill kya hoga?! Bhai ke paas saving to hoga. I hope everything goes alright," says Akshu who is in the hospital cafeteria. There have been a lot of things going on in her mind in the last few days. She is worried about the hospital bill & Virat's health. She thinks of thanking Abhimanyu. Because of him, Virat's surgery went well. A blush automatically appears on her rosy cheeks remembering that day. How Abhimanyu handled her. How he hugged her. Their closeness. Everything feels like a dream. After all, Khaados Birla itna bhi khaados nahi hai. She quickly finishes the cup of tea & goes towards Abhimanyu's cabin. But on the way she finds Manjiri talking on the phone at a side. She is happy seeing Manjiri. She thinks of talking to her but stops hearing her talk. Manjiri is saying on the phone, "Nahi, Bhaisahab. Mujhe Shreya pasand hai par Abhi likes someone. I can't go against my son's wish. Shreya ko acha ladka mil jayga. Thik hai. Namaste."

Akshu feels like someone stabbed a knife in her heart. Abhimanyu likes someone?! Wait! Akshu completely forgot that Abhimanyu has a girlfriend. Is Manjiri talking about that girl? Her eyes get filled with tears & she can feel sick to her stomach. She quickly rushes towards the washroom before anyone sees her. She leans against the wall & starts crying. She tries to scold herself saying, "Why are you crying, Akshu? Why? Who is Abhimanyu to you? He is none. Why do you feel bad hearing about his girlfriend?"

"You're in love," says a girl standing opposite to her. The girl is Akshara. Not Akshara but her illusion. Akshara says, "What are you talking about?"

"Come on. Don't try to fool yourself. You're in love with Dr Abhimanyu Birla," says Akshara's illusion. Akshara has also understood that it was right. She is indeed in love with Abhimanyu. She gives a sarcastic laugh & says, "But a one-sided love. He doesn't love me. I gave my heart to the wrong person."

"You never know what happens next," says Akshara's illusion with a smirk before disappearing. Akshara looks at the mirror & wipes off her tears. She says to herself, "It's better to stay away from you, Dr. Birla. I already fall for you. I don't want to fall harder & get hurt."

She comes out of the washroom & goes to the kids' section. Kids are always her happy place. She goes to an orphanage every month & spends a whole day with kids. Maybe being around kids will help her to forget about Abhimanyu. She starts talking with a bunch of kids. One asks her, "Di, aap na bohot pretty ho."

"Really? Thank you," replies Akshu with a smile. Another kid says, "Aur acha bhi. You're an angel."

"Hayee! Aab mai itna bhi khaas nahi," says Akshu imitating like shinchan. The kids chuckle hearing it. But unknown to all of them there is another person who is enjoying the scene. It's Abhimanyu. He is happy seeing Akshu with the kids. Another kid says in a pleading tone, "Di, sing a song, pleasuuu."

Akshu melts at the kid's cuteness. She says, "Okay my lovelies."

She starts singing a song. The song-

Abhi smiles hearing his Akshu singing. This mesmerising voice never fails to attract him. This girl will be a successful singer someday. Uhh! The voice! Abhi gets lost in the song. He doesn't even realize how much time he is standing there behind the door. Akshu ends the song making Abhi come out of his la la land. He quickly leaves for his cabin before anyone can see him. Entering his cabin, he says to himself, "Uff! What's happening to me?"
