The next weekend ran better, at least for Carlos and Oscar. Both drivers finished on the podium after Max and Lando crashed out as they fought for the win. Lando was visibly upset about his DNF and even more so that his friend had possibly caused the mess.
After the podium celebrations Oscar tried his best to cheer Lando up, but he wasn't sure if his efforts had any effect. Lando withdrew quickly, needing time alone to process everything. The Aussie nodded understandingly and told him, "If you ever want to talk or need anything, maybe a hug, please call me." Lando nodded slightly, before leaving in a haste.
As the chaos in the paddock wound down, Carlos sent Oscar a message asking for a quick meetup. They did get a few slight touches at the podium but since the left the Hotel in Spain both drivers didn't get a chance to be with each other.
The couple slipped away to find a quiet spot to talk. The Spaniard led the younger driver to his motorhome, hidden only a few steps away.
Once inside, they settled on the couch in the spacious vehicle. Oscar gathered his thoughts, feeling a mix of hope and nerves. "Can we talk about what's next for us?" he asked, his voice trembling slightly. He was nervous—what if he had misunderstood? What if he was about to get rejected?
Carlos reached out, taking Oscar's hand in his. "I'd like that. I've been thinking about it a lot. I want us to see where this goes, without any rush, but with intention." His fingers gently caressed the soft skin of the younger driver, offering reassurance.
Oscar's stomach twisted with anticipation. He beamed at Carlos, feeling a wave of relief and happiness wash over him. This was it—he could finally rest all the doubts he had been feeling. The Aussie squeezed Carlos's hand. "I feel the same way. I don't want to hide how I feel, but I also don't want to push you into anything you're not ready for." It was exhilarating to finally be here, but a deep-seated fear still lingered.
Carlos smiled warmly, leaning in to kiss Oscar gently. "I'm ready, Oscar. Let's take this one step at a time, but let's take those steps together."
Their lips met in a soft, caring kiss that conveyed their deep affection for each other. The kiss grew more passionate as they both poured their emotions into it, savoring the connection they shared. It was a kiss filled with promise, a vow to face whatever came their way together.
Oscar felt the intensity of Carlos's emotions in the kiss, his heart pounding in his chest. He responded eagerly, his hands moving to cup Carlos's face, deepening the kiss. Their breaths mingled, and the world around them seemed to disappear, leaving just the two of them in their own little universe.
Carlos pulled Oscar closer, his hand trailing down the younger driver's back, sending shivers through his body. Oscar's fingers tangled in Carlos's hair, pulling him even closer as their kiss grew more heated, their passion taking over.
When they finally pulled back, both were breathless, their faces close, both gazing at the other ever so longing "Together," Oscar whispered, his voice filled with emotion.
"Together," Carlos echoed, a smile playing on his lips. He placed a soft kiss on Oscar's forehead, his fingers still gently caressing his back.
They stayed there for a while, wrapped in each other's arms, content in the knowledge that they were in this together now. It wasn't just about the racing anymore—it was about them and the future they were beginning to build.
As they looked into each other's eyes, the world outside seemed to fade away. In that moment, they knew they had found something special, something worth holding onto. And they were ready to face whatever came next, hand in hand.
Oscar sighed contentedly, leaning his head on Carlos's shoulder. "I've wanted this for so long," he admitted softly. "I was just so afraid it would never happen."
Carlos kissed the top of Oscar's head. "I know the feeling. But we're here now, and that's what matters."
Oscar nodded, closing his eyes as he soaked in the warmth of Carlos's embrace. They sat in comfortable silence, the only sounds being their steady breaths and the faint hum of the motorhome's engine.
After a while, Carlos broke the silence. "We should probably get some rest. It's been a long day."
Oscar looked up at him, a playful glint in his eyes. "Are you suggesting we go to bed?"
Carlos chuckled, brushing a strand of hair away from Oscar's face. "Not exactly what I meant, but I wouldn't mind sharing a bed with you."
Oscar's cheeks flushed slightly, but he smiled. "I wouldn't mind that either."
They got up from the couch, and Carlos led Oscar to the small bedroom in the back of the motorhome. They climbed into the bed, lying side by side, facing each other. Carlos pulled the blanket over them, wrapping an arm around Oscar's waist.
As they settled into the bed, Oscar snuggled closer, resting his head on Carlos's chest. "Goodnight, Carlos."
"Goodnight, Oscar," Carlos replied, pressing a gentle kiss to Oscar's forehead.
