It was just another boring morning. I was the only one awake, since I always get up early on weekends. I was laying on the couch, watching tv and on my phone. My cats were chilling out on the floor right next to the couch I was laying on.

I got up to go to the kitchen to get a snack and found that the fridge door was open. I just guessed one of my sisters had left it open.

I close it without thinking twice about it.

I just get my toast and go.

As I cross to go to the living room again, I pass the bathroom door. That's when I hear a knock.

I stop right next to the door. At first I thought it was the front door, but it sounded way to close to me to be the front door. I'm kinda weirded out by this, but just keep walking.

The first step I take I hear it again. Three knocks. Right next to me.

Now, I've seen a lot of horror movies, so I'm not gonna be stupid and open the door. I know for a fact it's the bathroom door, so I walk away from it and head upstairs to tell my mom and sisters, toast still in my hands.

My mom doesn't think much of it and just tells me, "It's probably just one of that cats in there."

It was obviously not. My cats were still relaxing on the floor, no where near the bathroom.

I know my mom won't care if I keep making a big deal about it. I keep trying to forget it and try to get the courage to go back downstairs. Scaredy cat, I know.

I go back downstairs, my curiosity getting the best of me. I peek around the corner of the stairs and peek at the bathroom door across the hallway.

It's wide open.

The only way I can get back to the living room is if I cross the hallway.

"Damn it," I mutter under my breath.

"Ok ok ok, I can do this. I can. I can." I say to myself, trying to build up all the confidence that I won't be attacked by a poltergeist or something paranormal.

I hesitate for what feels about 15 minutes. I've never been in a weird/scary experience like this before.

After all the hesitating, I make the decision that I will just sprint through the hallway, holding onto my toast that is still in my hands.

As I sprint across the door it slams.

Luckily, I make it back to the couch alive, but I dropped my toast right by the door.

"Oh well, I didn't want the toast anymore anyway..." I say in my head, my breaths heavy and my heart pounding.

I try to relax, but then even more hell breaks out.

The tv's volume is going higher and higher, and it's not me or anyone. I know it isn't.

My cats run to hide upstairs.

It's at full volume and I close my eyes and covers my ears like and idiot, screaming. I run upstairs again, my eyes still closed and I feel the breeze of the bathroom door brush by me as I run.

I go upstairs and run into my room I share with my sister, locking the door.

She's awake already. The noise must have woken her up.

"What the hell is going on?!" She shouts over the loud muffled tv volume.

I just shake my head, breaths still heavy.

Then the tv stops. The noises all gone.

Several seconds later, there's three knocks on the room door.
