(User's POV)

It happened when I was 8.

My aunt, uncle, parents and I went fishing as a kind of family this one time. I was the only kid there, and since everyone was fishing, they didn't really keep an eye on me.

The place looked safe enough to me. It was basically a bunch of tall, dead grass, so I walked in looking for "imaginary" flowers.

As I walked farther away from my family and deeper into the grass, I noticed something small and brown about two yards away. I walked up to it and saw it was a small teddy bear.

I picked it up and I knew I would add it to my teddy bear collection at home, because, face it; what kind of girl or boy didn't have a bunch of teddy bears as a kid?

Anyway, I played with it for a while, until I heard someone calling my name. I looked around but couldn't see anyone around who'd be calling me, so I continued playing.

Later, when the sun was near to setting, I started making my back to where my family was.

Halfway there, I came to the realization that I was lost. I sat there and began to cry.

A while later, I heard someone calling my name again. I ran towards the way where I heard the call come from.

I ended up running into the arms of my uncle.

After that incident, I did get yelled at by my uncle.

On the ride home I had fallen asleep, so when we got home, my dad had to carry me to my bedroom. I remember asking him for that one teddy bear that I found at the dam. He was confused but asked my uncle to get it.

The story that my uncle told me sent chills up and down my spine.

Back then, I knew the adults discussed it themselves secretly.

When I reached the age of 13, they told me.

My uncle had headed out to try and find the bear. As soon as he had shut the door to the house and turned around, he spotted a little girl. She was pale white, he explained, too white to be anything ordinary. Her hair was pitch black. He could not see her face, due to the fact that it was turned away from him, but one glance told him enough.

She was holding my teddy bear.

Or should I say hers.

Apparently she had followed us home from the dam.
