Early the next morning, Keegan was awoken by the sound of a helicopter flying above the campsite. He let out a groan as he sat up in his tent, running a hand over his face as he tried to shake off the grogginess of sleep.
He stepped outside, stretching his arms up towards the sky as he looked up at the helicopter flying overhead.
she called all the soliders making them stand in a line..."okay boys,the helicopter is here for me because ill be leaving this little "adventure" until you guys come back to the base"
Keegan’s heart skipped a beat at your words, confusion and panic rising in his chest. He didn’t know what to make of the sudden declaration.
“Wait, what do you mean you won’t be joining us anymore? Who’s going to lead the missions? Who’s going to be in charge?”
she looked at him and smiled softly...she couldn't be angry at him for two long,two days were too much for her and for him too...
"you will keegan"
Keegan’s eyes widened in surprise and disbelief at your words, a mixture of feelings welling up in his chest.
“Me? You want me to be in charge?I don’t know if I can do that I mean, what if something goes wrong, what if I lead everyone to their death, what if i-"
"hey it's okay seregeant,i belive in you"...she said giving him soft smile knowing that he was perfect for that position
Keegan’s heart swelled with pride and determination at your words. He felt a sense of purpose and purpose wash over him as he stood a little taller, his shoulders squaring as he nodded firmly.
“I won’t let you down. I won’t let any of you down. I’ll do my best to keep you all safe and alive, I promise.”
"perfect,see you in four five days boys"...she said hopping on the helicopter
Keegan watched as you climbed onto the helicopter, his heart in his throat as he watched you leave. He wanted nothing more than to reach out and grab you, to keep you from leaving.
But he knew he couldn’t. He knew he had to let you go, even though it killed him to do so,and also knowing he will see you soon.
