chapter six { The demand }

I knew I couldn't fully trust Rafe. I kept wondering why he was helping me out so much right now? "I'm sorry you were friends with her, I know so many other people that would respect you so much more than her." He smiled while driving his car back to his house. I looked down at my phone to see a text from Sarah. 'You cant let him turn you into to something you are not, thats what he does Abby. He is not the person that you want to be around. He is going to hurt you. I know you are mad at me but I dont want you hanging around with Rafe' 

Did she really think she could tell me what to do? I wasn't going to listen to her so I showed the text to Rafe. "What the hell? You dont believe her Abby, do you?" He asks. "Of course I dont, if she really thought this then she would be having this conversation with me either in person or way before we even became friends." I replied. "I'm not that kind of guy anymore okay? You can trust me... I want you to" He says.

As we were pulling into the driveway I see the infamous Pouge vehicle, all rusted and torn down. Sarah swiftly got out of the car fast pacing towards Rafe so she could catch me before I got out. "What do I do?" I ask. "Just stay in here" He replied. He got out of the car and walked to my side of the door where Sarah was about to be. I rolled the window down slightly so I could hear the conversation. "She doesn't want to talk to you" He says. I look over at the Twinkie and see John b tense up, he looked back at me with a sense of anger and confusion. I looked away with my eyes facing the floor of the car. "Rafe I know you are my brother and we are supposed to be family, so please walk away from the door, I need to talk to her and you know how much pain you will cause if you don't move." Sarah demands. I could see Rafes fists starting to tense up, and his speech sounded more and more frustrated. I opened the car door and put my arm around Rafe. "Thank you Sarah for trying to help but this is what you have done to me." I say. As we walk towards the house Rafe shoves me away. I turn around to see all the Pouges staring back at me with a worried look on there face, especially JJ's face. I stare at them while walked with my arms crossed and my head held down with sadness filling up my body.

Was this really who I want to turn into?
